You're so tweet

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at From the Heart Stamps; the twist this week is to make an easel card.  You can play along with the sketch, the twist, or both...here it is:

I really would like to keep making snowman cards (this sketch would be perfect to embellish with pretty snowflakes!), but decided to go with a spring image since (hopefully) it's on the way!  The image is colored with pencils and I've done some simple layering.  I've embellished with buttons (shanks removed) and mini brads (to mimic the ladybug's spots).

Paper: G.P. 110 CS, PTI Stamper's Select and Harvest Gold CS, SU! Poppy Parade CS

Flurry of Wishes

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means we have a new sketch (and twist) for you at From the Heart Stamps...here it is:

I had to use one of Faith's newest images...Flurry!  (It is so appropriate for the weather we are getting here.  For the last 4 weeks we have had snow or blizzards at the beginning of the week...thankfully it was just snow on Sunday, I think it will be okay getting to work Monday.)  I think this is one of the cutest snowmen ever!  I've colored it with pencils and added just a touch of glitter to his heart.  I kept it clean and simple with minimal layering, and added some paper piercing and brads for interest, along with a die cut snowflake.  Here's a close-up:

flyin' by to say hi

Good morning sketch fans!  We have a new sketch for you at From the Heart Stamps, along with a twist..."Use Stitching".  Check out the sketch:

I have to admit that I was a bit stumped by the sketch, so I flipped the image panel.  (I am also just realizing that I forgot the twist!  Ugh!)  I love this Birdbrain witch...she's cute, not spooky!  Shc's colored with pencils and her eyelids have a bit of glittery green "eye shadow" (of course I couldn't resist that!); I've cut her out and adhered her to the image panel.  I've embellished simply with a sentiment banner adhered with mini brads.

Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker, Signo Black Gel Pen
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Perfect Plum, PTI True Black, We R Memory Keepers Patterned Paper
Embellies: Martha Stewart "Sour Apple" Glitter, Recollections Brads

Sketch Saturday #349

Good morning!  Saturday means a new sketch at the Sketch Saturday challenge blog!  As always, it's a fun one!   Our sponsor for the week is A Random Fan; they have some adorable images!   Here's our sketch:

I picked some patterned papers and colored my image to match, but I just wasn't liking the finished result....  Then I had the idea to go with an all white card base; it turns out that I like the simplicity!  I've used textured vellum for the slanted panel and white brads to secure the banner.

Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Recollections Brads

Friends to the End

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you from Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Denise has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Pearls, Flowers, and Charms".  Hmmm, I do have to say that this was indeed a challenge for me!  I had to think "out of the box" a bit....

I went with a fun set from Doodle Pantry, Snowman Pile-Up; it includes line art, pre-colored images, sentiments, and DP...everything you need!  I went with a pre-colored image, a sentiment, and 2 of the DPs.  After printing the elements, I did a bit of layering and added my embellishments; a "flurry" of pearls for snow, a white felt "loopy bloom" flower embellished with a snowflake charm and pearl.  It was fun to see if I could make this challenge work for a winter card!  I also added some glitter to the image, but I didn't capture the sparkle with my photo...it is pretty in real life!

Stamp Set: Doodle Pantry Snowman Pile-up
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Doodle Pantry DP
Embellies: Recollections Pearls, Making Memories Snowflake, Doodlebug Glitter

Good morning!  It's time for Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps) December release...I always look forward to seeing and working with the new sets and this month was no exception!  The sets I'll be showcasing today are Cute Critters and Flower Garden.

First, I have used the fun set "Cute Critters"; it includes outlines, pre-colored images, sentiments and a selection of papers.  It isn't a holiday set, but I wanted to show the versatility of the images and created a Christmas card.  The turtle is colored with pencils and accented with glitter...I imagine even turtles like to get their glam on!  I distressed my papers a bit, added a silver bow, lots of silver brads and a computer generated sentiment.

Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Pure Poppy, SU! Soft Sky, Carta Bella "Merry and Bright" DP

I decided to go with a baby card...no stamping involved here...I let the cute paper and dies do all the work!  I embellished with a bit of this and that...mini brads, sparkly CS, a button, and a snippet of ribbon.  I think I may try a girl version of this....

Clearly Digi Stamps November Release

It's that time again...time for the newest stamp release from Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps)!  I'm working with 2 fun sets today...Jolly Joy and Corvette.  Both sets come with outlines, pre-colored images, and papers to match.  I decided to go with the pre-colored images this month.

First up is Jolly Joy...I love the fun images and colors of this set!  I resized and printed the image, along with one of the DPs.  The DP is matted and the image panel is cut with a Spellbinder's die and popped up.  I added some ribbon and Swarovski flatback crystals for my embellishments.  The sketch is from Create with Connie and Mary.

.

Image: Jolly Joy
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and SU! Real Red
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals, PTI Pure Poppy Satin Ribbon
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Second, I made a clean and simple card.  I resized the image, trimmed it, and popped up the panel on the cardbase.  The holly is cut out, adhered, and I gave the berries a bit of glitter.

Images: Jolly Joy
Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select
Embellie: Martha Stewart Glitter in "Candy Apple"
Extras: The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Next I went out of my comfort zone and made some "man cards"....  The Corvette set has 4 different colored cars along with 2 DPs to match each color.  The sentiment is from the new set Cool Ride.  I did a bit of layering and added some brads for embellishing.

Image: Corvette
Sentiment: Cool Ride
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Poppy Parade and Basic Black
Embellies: Spare Parts Black Brads, Recollections Black Mini Brads
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities

I combined the image and sentiment for this one, and added some black mesh...I like the way the colorful DP peeks out from under the mesh.  I also like that I have a couple of "man cards" for my stash!  (Yay for me!)

Sentiment: Cool Ride
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Basic Gray and Basic Black

Creative Card Crew: Fantasy

Good morning!  It's time for another Creative Card Crew challenge; this fortnight our theme is "fantasy" and our sponsor is Michelle Perkett.  Michelle has some beautiful fairies, but I couldn't resist this whimsical mermaid; I think she's a doll!  Thank you, Michelle!

When I was working on my card, I couldn't decide whether I should go with birthday or water themed DP.  I finally settled on these cute fish....  The DP was already distressed, but I distressed the edges further to give it a bit more texture; I like the shabby look paired with the crisp white cardbase and image panel.  The image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter and mini brads.  I pierced a circle, added some brads and popped the image up.

Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Fancy Pants Designs DP
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Pink Smoothie", Recollections Brads

Shopping Stella Card/Gift Box

Good morning! My Mom asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who is embarking on a new adventure; she is opening a shop on Main Street. I was pretty much able to make whatever I wanted; however, my Mom wanted the card to be purple since that's her friend's favorite color. I DO like purple, but I was a bit worried because I knew I didn't have much in my stash.... I was able to find some pretty Basic Grey and when paired with purple CS, it worked perfectly. I love it when it all comes together so easily!

Stella is colored with pencils and her wand and crown are accented with a touch of yellow glitter. I made sure to give her bold, red lips since that is another favorite color of the recipient! I went with one of my "go-to" layouts and embellished with ribbons, a die cut flower and some bling.

Here's a close-up of the card only. I think Stella rocks! I love her crown and wand...they give me the opportunity to break out the glitter!

Image: Stamping Bella "Stella's Goin' Shoppin"
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Embellies: PTI Plum Pudding and Dark Chocolate Ribbons, Recollections Bling, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, The Cat's Pajamas CutUp "Button Flower" Die, PTI Label Die (box), The Paper Studio Sicky Doos

That's it for now, although I do hope to work is some stamping later today. It's been a busy week, so there is a lot to catch up on at home. Also, my daughter would like to do a bit of geocaching if the weather holds out. Thanks for stopping by; have a great Sunday!
