Chick St. Nick

Hello there!  How was your Thanksgiving?  Hope you were able to have quality time with family and friends.  I worked so I get to celebrate later today with my family...looking forward to that!

It's time to get into the holiday spirit...I can't believe December 1st is tomorrow...where has the year gone?  On the fifth Saturday at Sketch Saturday, you may choose your sketch and Sketch #283 was perfect to showcase the adorable Chick St. Nick.  Here's the sketch I chose:

The image is colored with pencils and I've added some subtle glitter to the Christmas ball and some sparklier glitter to Santa's hat.  I used an ornament die cut and framed the image by die cutting a hole in the middle.  Papers are Doodlebug and I've embellished simply with brads.

Today I've used "Seven Christmas Birds"...such an adorable image and it was fun to color with pencils.  I've added a bit of glitter to the stars, paired it with lightly distressed papers, and embellished with twill and some buttons.

Stella's Whipping up Thanksgiving Dinner

Good morning friends!  We have a fun, new Inspiration Challenge for you at Catch the Bug!  Here is the inspiration photo:

I went with "Stella-Turkey".  As I was coloring the image, I thought how I would love to cook in Stella's kitchen...she has fancy Rachael Ray cookwear!  Don't you love the bright colors?  LOL  Plus, she made mashed sweat potatoes...yum!  The sketch is from Sketch Saturday; I'm too late to enter their challenge, but I loved the sketch.  I've embellished simply with a touch of glitter on Stella's earrings and some brads.  I even decorated the inside too...  This image came with a cheeky sentiment: Warning!  Not for the faint at heart!  LOL  Will have to send this one to someone who will appreciate the humor....

Have a Merry Little Christmas

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means we have a new Sketch Challenge for you at From the Heart Stamps...it's a really fun one!  Here it is:

I decided to go with the twist too...it was fun since I don't usually decorate the inside of my cards.  I kept it clean and simple and mimicked the front of the card.

The image is colored with pencils and I've added a bit of glitter to the snow/snowflakes.  I thought the sentiment would be perfect in the empty space at the bottom right so I printed it on the card front.  I've embellished simply with die cut snowflakes.

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning!  It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug; Humor Me holidays for this week are:

9th: Chaos Never Dies Day
12th: Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
13th: World Kindness Day
14th: Operating Room Nurse Day
15th: Clean Your Refrigerator Day

Since I'm a nurse, I was compelled to go with "Operating Room Nurse Day".  Nurse Margaret is ready to obtain that pre-op blood sample; quick, run the other way!  LOL

I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday...love their sketches!  Margaret is colored with pencils; I've embellished with a die cut band-aide and some Bella Dots.  Not so sure what I think of my color combo here...I used SU!'s retired Blush Blossom thinking that it looked like the color of a band-aid, but now that the card is done it looks more pink-ish.  Hmmm, I guess I will send this one to a female....

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo "Nurse Margaret-Hurt a Little" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Blush Blossom, Ballet Blue, and Poppy Parade
