Nursing is a work of the heart.

Good morning! I have a card to share using the adorable "Little Nurse Kathy"...I just love this image! She's colored with pencils and I've added a sentiment especially for my friend who is leaving the unit to take a new job. She has one of the biggest hearts ever, so this sentiment was perfect! She will be missed!

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Pink Pirouette and Real Red CS
Embellies: Spare Parts Mini Brads
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Gina Marie Designs Dies, Foam Tape

I really think the detail of the die adds a lot to a clean and simple card; here's a close up:

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here. There is still time to play along with this week's sketch; see the details here...we would love to see your interpretation!

Bugaboo Inspiration Challenge

Good morning! It's Saturday so that means we have a new challenge for you at Catch the Bug...here is your inspiration photo:

Here's what I came up with:

I think this little bird is adorable! I colored her with pencils, accented her eyes with a black gel pen, accented her beak with Glossy Accents, accented the heart and flower with glitter, and added Bella Dots for embellishing. I'm liking the pink and yellow color combo!  Here's a close-up:

I like BIG BOOKS and I can not lie.

Good morning! It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug; some unusual holidays for this week are:

April 10: National Farm Animals Day, National Siblings Day
April 11: National Pet Day, National Cheese Fondue Day
April 12: National Licorice Day, National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day
April 13: National Peach Cobbler Day, National Scrabble Day
April 14: National Dolphin Day, National Pecan Day

LOL Did you know there were so many fun days to celebrate? Since this whole week is National Library Week, I had to go with that!

I couldn't resist making a card for my daughter for this one...she is an avid reader! She doesn't visit the library though; she likes to purchase them, preferably in hardcover...there are stacks of books in her bedroom! The image is colored with pencils and I've used a simple layout accented with buttons. Maybe I will put a gift card inside...she can buy more books!  LOL

happy easter

Good morning! I have an Easter card to share today; this image actually has coordinating birthday sentiments but I think it's fun for Easter too! I've colored the image with pencils and accented the dots and her eyelids with glitter. I kept it clean and simple and went with one of my favorite "stand-by" layouts. I've added a sentiment, ribbon, and pearls for embellishment.

I have a tip to share! Sometimes the patterned paper will show through the ribbon; see the right side of the photo, you can see the dots. Now check the left side...no dots!  Simply cut a piece of cardstock the width of the ribbon, add a touch of glue, and slide it under the ribbon. It's a quick and easy fix and makes the finished card look more polished.

Here's a close-up of the finished card:

FTHS April Blog Hop

Good morning! It's time for the April From the Heart Stamps Blog Hop...our theme this month is "I'm No Spring Chicken". I'm really feeling this theme...I just had a birthday! More about that later....

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry. One random commentor will be selected on each blog (and the FTHS blog!) to win their image of choice from the FTHS Store!

If you have arrived from From the Heart Stamps, you are in the right place; if not, why don't you start there so you don't miss anything?

Today I've used Bee Happy Birdbrain...the flowers just shout "Spring" to me!  She's colored with pencils...no glittery eyelids today, I didn't want the loose glitter sticking to the window panel! (I must confess it was really hard to step away from the glitter! LOL) I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and made a shaker card filled with assorted sequins. I've used vellum for the panels (because I didn't want to cover up the pretty plaid paper!) and secured it with mini brads. There's just something fun about a shaker card...I need to make one more often!

Here's a close-up:

About the birthday.... I turned 50! A friend is a photographer and wanted to do a photo shoot; I wanted my kids to have a pretty picture of their mom, so I went for it. We had so much fun!  I learned about lighting, etc...photography is really interesting, I would love to take some classes. Here is one of my favorite shots:

Stella Says Sketch #507

Good morning! Stella has a new sketch for you to try at Catch the Bug...it's a good one too! Here it is:

I went with a fun Spring-y image...I couldn't resist a cute kitty in a flower pot!  She is colored with pencils and I've added a touch of glitter to the heart on the flower pot. The edges of the layers are sponged for definition and I've added some Bella Dots for embellishing. Easy peasy!  I just wish Spring would get here...it has been cold, wet, and dreary...boo! Are you ready for Spring?

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here...we do hope you will play along!
