Happy Fall

Good morning!  I'm back with another fun sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches; Theresa has designed our sketch for this week...I like the corner element, so many possibilities!  Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs and they let me pick this yummy Autumn Candy Apple to work with... thank you!  There are a lot of really darling images to work with...check them out!

I love Granny's Smith apples, so I wanted my card to be primarily green...I added a bit of caramel and some red for contrast.  The image is colored with pencils and the panel is popped up.  I was trying to figure out what to put in the upper left corner and then remembered my stash of alphabet beads...perfect!

Let It Snow

Hello there!  How was your weekend?  Since I worked, I had to take some time and get my "stamp fix" this morning!  I'm using a fun set called Word Doodles by Lisa Lara; it's available at Clearly Digi Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps).  I have to tell you, I love Lisa's digi sets!  There is something about them that just makes me go "Awww...."  She has some cute new ones for the November release, so stay tuned....

At first I was going to go with colored CS, but then decided to go black/white...I thought the image was the perfect pop of color!  I printed the image twice, cropped/matted the first, and cut the snowman out of the second so I could pop him up for a bit more dimension.  I embossed one of the panels with snowflakes and added some black glitter CS to add a bit of sparkle.  I like how this one turned out...although I am not ready for snow!  LOL

Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker

Use a Doily!

Good morning!  We have another challenge for you at Ruby's Rainbow...this fortnight my teamie Ellie Wee would like you to use a doily on your creation.  Sounds like a great challenge, right?

I knew I wanted to go with a Breast Cancer Awareness theme and pink...the doily seemed to work well with that.  As I was looking for my DP, I came across some scraps from one of my favorite paper collections...score!  I knew I wasn't going to mat the image panel, because I wanted to show as much of the doily as possible, so I printed the image on white CS so it would "pop" against the cream background.  I embellished simply with ribbon, a handmade felt flower, and some Swarovski crystals.

Image: Saturated Canary "Boobie Love"
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Vintage Cream, and Sweet Blush, My Mind's Eye DP
Embellies: SU! Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Light Rose"

I liked the simple sketch this week; if you like you can jazz it up with embellishments.  I used the leftover negative from a chevron diecut for my border, and added a button a some bling.

Fancy Folds

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew team; this fortnight our sponsor is Stamp Fairy and our challenge is "Fancy Folds".  Today I am working with the Tommy Here Comes Santa collection...thank you, Gerda, for the adorable image!

I'll have to say that "fancy folds" threw me for a bit of a loop...I tend to be a  no-frills stamper and I knew I would need some help with this one.  I went to Splitcoast Stampers, found a tutorial for a "T-Slide Card", and went to work!  I found the instructions to be fairly easy to follow and it helped that there were pictures.  My photos don't show the folding/scoring involved, that part is behind the image panel.  Below you can see the card opened and completely closed.

Image/Sentiment: Stamp Fairy Digital Stamps
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Fine Linen and Dark Chocolate, Crate Paper DP
Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker
Embellies: Bella Dots, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust"
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will head on over to CCC...I think my teamies have really outdone themselves with this challenge!  I'd love to see you play along...what "fancy fold" will you choose?

Halloween Treat Container

Hello there!  Since I was one of the lucky winners at Quirky Crafts "Quirky Monster" challenge, I was invited to be a guest designer for this challenge.  How cool is that?!  The challenge is "Anything But A Card" and is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.

I had seen a challenge, that involved recycling, that I also wanted to play so it was an easy decision to use an old Crystal Light container and turn it into something fun!  I covered my container with DP and added a band in a coordinating print to dress it up a bit...I also used the same print for the lid.  I used a cute image called Bearly a Pumpkin...thank you, Robyn!  The bear is colored with pencils, accented with glitter, and cut/mounted with Nestabilities.  I added some buttons, attached them with twine, and tied the twine in the back.  (I wanted the image panel to gently curve, but not be stuck to the container.  I just pulled the twine tight enough to curve; this allows you to see the full image from the front.)

This is what the finished container looks like...it's ready to fill with shredded paper, a gift card, and a sweet treat!  It was inexpensive too...less than 50 cents!  The container was free, the DP (love it...it reminds me of wall paper...it has wonderful texture!) was on sale, and I just added the twine and buttons.  Quick, easy, inexpensive and cute...now that's my kind of project!

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Pumpkin Pie, Daisy Bucket Designs DP
Embellies: Martha Stewart Glitter (Orange Sorbet), PTI Buttons, Divine Twine

I hope you will head on over to the Quirky Crafts challenge blog and check out the team's creations!

Halloween BINGO

Sassy Studio Designs had both a fun sketch and a BINGO challenge last week which I combined with some other challenges.  For the BINGO portion, I choose Orange-Ghost-Bling-Witch Hat-Spooky Tree.  Let me tell you, it really was a challenge to incorporate all of those items!

The image is colored with pencils and cut out...I had barely started cutting and wondered why on earth I choose to do that?!  The images are rather intricate!  I embellished with CC Designs Cutters Dies; the tree and the bats are cut from glitter CS and the pumpkins are embossed for a bit of texture.  I finished it off with a bit of orange bling.

Clear Dollar Stamps October Release

Hello!  It's release time at Clear Dollar Stamps and it's a big one...there is something for everyone!

First, I'm using Romans' Road Rainbow and I went for a clean and simple look.  I re-sized and combined the image and sentiment, then colored the image with pencils.  The panel is framed with black and I've added tiny black brads to the sun's eyes.  This set comes with outlines, pre-colored images and many coordinating sentiments.  I love the cheery, colorful image!

Next I'm using Eat More Ham, which features a turkey on the run plus funny sentiments; this set also comes with pre-colored images or outlines.  The image is colored with pencils; I've printed, colored, and cut out extra tail feathers to add a bit of dimension.  The patterned papers are distressed  and crumpled to add a bit of texture.  For embellishing I turned a sentiment into a banner and added some coordinating buttons.

Good morning!  We have another fun sketch for you this week from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  It was created by Laura and I think you will find it's very versatile!  Our sponsor this week is Stamping Scrapping.

I flipped the sketch to fit my image, which was chosen by Denise.  (A group of us at SCS use the same image each month to make a card...it's really fun to see what everyone comes up with!)  I used pencils to color the image and accented it with a bit of glitter.  (Shoot, I realize I forgot to add a bit of pink to her cheeks!)    I embellished with a ribbon, button, and some twine.

Got Cake?

Good morning!  I decided to take a break from pink and Halloween and go with a clean and simple card today.  I love this fun image from Clear Dollar Stamps "Birthday Celebrations" set...it made me think of good, old-fashioned yellow cake with chocolate icing...yum!

I re-sized and printed the image, colored it with pencils, diecut it with Spellbinder's dies and adhered it to a plain cardbase...no DP!  I simply scored a couple of lines and added some gingham ribbon and a button...good old-fashioned embellishments!

Butterfly Baby

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from Ruby's Rainbow; this fortnight our challenge is "Cute and Cuddly", chosen by Helen.  I love the theme of the challenge...I thought this new image from Saturated Canary would be perfect!  It's called "Butterfly Baby" and was created for a very special purpose...you can read about it here.

My image is colored with pencils and I added a tiny bit of glitter to the heart.  The vertical strip of DP reminds me of a quilt so I embellished my card with buttons, and added a bit of ribbon and Bella Dots.  The sketch I used is from Sketch Saturday.

Sassy Bachelorette

Good morning!  It's Tuesday so that means another challenge from the girls at Tuesday Morning Sketches; our sponsor for the week is Sassy Studio Designs (love the sassy images!).  In addition to a sketch, this week is our judged challenge so we have a twist...the letter "E".  Here's the sketch....

I choose Sassy Bachelorette to work with; thank you to Sassy Studio Designs...I think she's gorgeous!  She's colored with pencils and her ear ring and diamond ring are accented with some crystals. She is cut out and adhered to the card; to embellish I adhered some more crystals around the edge of the card.  Not sure why they look gold in the picture, because they are pinkish hued...so pretty in real life!  For the twist, my "E" is "elegant" because a girl can be both sassy and elegant...right?!  You bet she can!

Just curious....  Do you prefer to cut your image right at the line, or do you prefer to leave a border?  I usually don't leave a border, but the image was tiny and delicate so I did with this one.

Image: Sassy Studio Designs
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, Bazzill Bling, Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Crystal" and "AB"

Birds....

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew ladies; for this fortnight "Birds" is our theme and our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp.

I'll have to admit I was a bit stumped with this one....  Then I realized that chicks are birds...yay, one of my all time favorites to the rescue...Stampendous Calendar Chicks!  I thought this little gal would work out perfectly...she's all spiffed up in her "Super Chick" costume.  I also went with a non-traditional Halloween color scheme...just for fun!

Superchick is colored with pencils and accented with pink glitter.  I used quite a few diecuts to embellish...felt clouds, glittery bats, etc.

Pretty in Pink

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the girls at Forever Friends...this month we are playing BINGO...which I love!

The sponsor for the randomly picked winner is Di's Digi Downloads; the winner will receive a $10 voucher to spend in their shop.

The sponsor for the "Forever Friends Favorite" is Milk Coffee Stamps; the winner will receive 3 images of their choice.  Remember, this is a judged challenge and you need to use a Forever Friends image to win!

I used a cute image from Milk Coffee (Thank you, Milk Coffee!) for my card, and I chose the top row of the BINGO card...ribbon, pink and gems.  I colored the image with pencils and embellished the image panel with Swarovski crystals.  I used a bit of ribbon in the upper left corner and a bit more in the lower right corner to embellish the handmade felt flower.  I used some paper that's been sitting in my stash for a loooong time...it has a really nice texture...it reminds me a bit of wallpaper.

Image: Milk Coffee Stamps Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer, Color Box Frost White
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Pink Pirouette and Rose Red, Daisy Bucket Designs DP

I hope you will play a bit of BINGO with us...I'd love to see what you create!

Top Tip Tuesday: Good With Food
Tuesday Throwdown: Cute and Cuddly
Sketch from Crafting When We Can

Here's my tip for Top Tip Tuesday: Be VERY CAREFUL when applying glitter to a digi image!  The glue can make the ink run and turn your lovely white frosting into a gray mess...not good!  Ask me how I know! (wink)  I'll tell you....  I added just a touch of glitter to my frosting to give it a subtle sparkle...it was a disaster!  I tried to scrape the glitter off, but that wasn't happening....  I printed another image, cut out the frosting, and adhered it over the top of the "gray mess".  All is well!

Thanks for stopping by!
