Hey Chickie

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at Catch the Bug...check it out:

Fun sketch, right?!  I have to admit the hexagons threw me off a bit, but that's why they call it a challenge!  The chicken is colored with pencils and of course I had to add some "glittery eye shadow"...I really couldn't resist.  I was able to work 4 patterned papers into the card...I love it when I can make that work!  I've embellished simply with some Swarovski flatback crystals.  I have a friend in mind for this one...she has chickens at her acreage and is kind enough to give us fresh eggs!

Happy "Keester"!

Good morning!  WE have a new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday, along with Bugaboo for this week's sponsor...it's going to be a great challenge!  Check out Cathy's awesome sketch:
Easter is coming soon, so I thought it would be fun to go that route; I went with Gus and humor.  Can you really go wrong with that?!  Gus is colored with pencils and I've accented the eggs with glitter.  I love the idea of the image panel being a giant banner!  I adhered it with mini brads...afterwards I wished I would have matted the panel in chocolate brown but the entire panel was already adhered to the card base...and it was stuck!

hats off, GRADUATE!

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at From the Heart Stamps...and I really love it!  Check it out:

I decided to get started on graduation cards and this adorable Birdbrain was perfect!  I turned the rectangle into a square because I really hate to cover up cute paper!  Are any of you like that?  The Birdbrain is colored with pencils and I refrained from adding glittery "eye shadow"...this one looks like a boy bird for sure!  I've done some simple layering and embellished simply with die cut stars.

Embellies: Martha Stewart "Cotton Candy" Glitter, PTI Hibiscus Burst Button
Extras: MFT Onesie Die-namics Die, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape

Ruby's Rainbow ABC

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Valou has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Anything But a Card".  Sounds like a good challenge!

I made a box to present a custom Baptism card that I made for a friend.  The box is very simple to make with the help of the Scor-Pal; the bottom is lined with white felt and the top is decorated with an embossed panel and a felt rose to coordinate with the card.  For the card, I've used white/cream...embossed CS, textured vellum, die cut onesie with glitter trim, ribbon, a felt flower, pearls and stickpins.  (The recipient loved it!)  Here's a close-up of the card:

Sentiment: Computer Generated (printed in gray)
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Spare Parts Pearls, Maya Road Stickpins, Grosgrain Ribbon (my stash), Flower (MFT Royal Rose Die-namics Die/PTI Felt), Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Extras: Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, White Felt (to line bottom of box), Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here, along with the challenge details.  We hope you will play along...I'd love to see your ABC project!

Challenges entered:

As You Like It: Favorite Anything But a Card
(Why?  An ABC challenge is always a bit hard for me; I always think "What should I make?"  My standby is gift packaging because it is inexpensive and really elevates the presentation of  the card or gift...even something simple can look extra special!)
Card and Scrap: Bling, Glitter, or Pearls (I used glitter and pearls.)
Crafting For All Seasons: Girly Girls
Penny's Paper Crafty: One For the Girls/Female Cards
The Crafting Cafe: Welcome Little One
Try It On Tuesday: Pearls for Girls

ABC...Birthday Gift Packaging

Good morning!  It's Anything But a Card Monday at Catch the Bug...my favorite thing is to recycle a Crystal Light container.  (Good thing I have a stash of them, because they are now oval shaped and the circle Spellbinder's dies no longer work for the lids!)  I went with a birthday theme...with a teen girl, there is always someone having a birthday....  It's good to have a stash if you need something quick!  They are perfect for gift cards, nail polish, lip gloss, etc....girlie stuff!

Eggbert is colored with pencils to coordinate with the patterned paper.  I've added some touches of glitter to the balloons to complement the sparkly shred filling the container.  I've used Spellbinder's dies for the image and the lid.  I've added a band of contrasting patterned paper, curved the image panel around the container, and adhered it with foam tape.  Here's a pic from the side:

Image: Bugaboo "Eggbert Birthday" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Berry Sorbet, American Crafts Patterned Paper
Embellies: Martha Stewart "Sugar Cube" Glitter, Irridescent Shred
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the DT's ABC creations here.

I am entering my container in the Addicted to Stamps: Use a Number Challenge.
