ABC

Good morning friends; it's ABC Monday at Catch the Bug! Graduation is just around the corner, so I have some gift packaging for my "Anything But a Card" project today. I purchase these handy gable boxes at Hobby Lobby when they are 50% off; they're nice to have on hand and easy to decorate. They give your gift a little extra oomph!

I've colored the image with pencils, layered it with a die cut and popped it up with foam tape over a simple band. I've added a touch of glitter to the stars and diploma and a die cut glittery star and heart for embellishing. Here's a close-up:

Catch the Bug ABC

Good morning; it's ABC Monday at Catch the Bug!  With graduation just around the corner, I decorated a little tin for gift giving!

I decided to go non-traditional and use pink instead of the school colors!  The image is colored with pencils and the pink stars are accented with glitter to coordinate with the sparkly pink band.  I've done some simple layering and adhered the panel to the tin with foam tape.  I've added some iridescent shred and a die cut "16" to finish.  You can hide all sorts of goodies within the shred...gift cards, money, candy, small gifts, etc.

Paper: G.P. 110 CS, PTI True Black CS, Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS

Birdbrain Graduate

Good morning!  We have a new sketch to share with you at From the Heart Stamps and it's a great one! Along with the new sketch is the optional twist which is to "Use a Die Cut"; here it is:

Graduation is just a month away, so I thought I should be busy since I have a daughter graduating!  I pulled out some fun school themed papers from my stash and colored the Birdbrain to coordinate.  I've embellished with plenty of die cut stars and some Swarovski flatback crystals.  I also cut out some of the books from the patterned paper...my paper is a holey mess now since the books were scattered all over the 12 x 12 sheet.  My daughter's plan is to major in Microbiology and minor in Spanish, then go to med school with the ultimate goal of practicing Psychiatry, so I picked books that are relevant to her studies.  After I finished I realized the card wasn't too "girly", but the Birdbrain does have glittery "eye shadow" so that does have to count for something!  Haha!  Here's a close-up:

Congratulations to Ewe

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means it's our "Anything But a Card" (ABC) post at Catch the Bug.  I have to admit this is always a real challenge for me; I struggle to come up with ideas!  I always see the other ABC projects and think "That's awesome, why didn't I think of that?!"

We are in graduation mode at our house, so that's where my idea for this gift box came from.  Our daughter is a senior this year and I'm in the midst of planning her reception...invitations, venue, food, decorations, etc.  If any of you have experience with this, I would love to hear your tips!  Really...please leave them in the comment section...thank you!

I think this ewe is so darn cute!  She's colored with pencils and I've added some glitter to the stars.  I've layered her with die cuts, added a band and twine to the box...quick and easy packaging...hopefully fun too!  (I'm thinking I may need a lot of these!)  The gable box is from Hobby Lobby, purchased for 50% off, so a pretty good deal.

hats off, GRADUATE!

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at From the Heart Stamps...and I really love it!  Check it out:

I decided to get started on graduation cards and this adorable Birdbrain was perfect!  I turned the rectangle into a square because I really hate to cover up cute paper!  Are any of you like that?  The Birdbrain is colored with pencils and I refrained from adding glittery "eye shadow"...this one looks like a boy bird for sure!  I've done some simple layering and embellished simply with die cut stars.

Pure Gumption!

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Shaz has chosen our challenge and she would like you to use an animal.  Hmmm, this sounds like a great opportunity to pull out my little buddy Changito!

I was asked to make some graduation cards and this image is a favorite stand-by.  Changito is colored with pencils and his eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  The sketch is a past one from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge; I kept it simple and embellished with 2 mini brads.

CAS Graduation

Good morning!  I've got a Clean and Simple card to share today; I was inspired by this card...I loved the layout.

My daughter had been invited to a lot of graduations and I needed something that I could mass produce.  I went with the school colors and used glitter CS...I thought the girls would like some sparkle!  The chick is colored with pencils and markers; the image panel is mounted with foam tape.  I just realized there are no embellies on this card!  Hmmm...that doesn't happen often....

The graduates also received a gourmet cupcake packaged in a cute window box...just a little something for them on their special day.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black and YoYo Yellow Markers
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS

you did it!

Hi there; I'm back again with a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches!  My teamie, Jessi, created this cool sketch for us to work with.  This will be a judged challenge, so in addition to the sketch there is a twist...lots of flowers.  Guess who forgot the twist?  LOL

Graduation is coming up, so I thought I'd go with that theme.  Changito is colored with pencils; I added some small touches of pink to the tassel and diploma...just to make it a bit girly.  Pink Bella Baubles are the finishing touch to the card...I like the combo of chocolate, gray, and pink, it's different.

CAS Graduation

Good Friday morning! It is wet and drizzly here today; I am really hoping it will clear up for the weekend as it is graduation. Our colors are gold and black; our mascot is a lion. Since I didn't have a lion (with cap and scroll) stamp, I decided to go with this cute little Stampendous Calendar Chick.
The chick is colored with pencils, cut out with nesties and mounted on the new large scallop circle. The card is very simply embellished; I just paper pierced a line, used my Scor-Pal to add a couple of lines, and finished it off with some brads. (I actually use this technique a lot...it's fast and easy!)

Bella Graduation Card/Gift Box

Happy Wednesday! It is another cold, rainy day here in Iowa. I don't think I have ever had the furnace running in May before....
Today I have a non-traditional graduation card to show you. My former boss asked me to make a card for her daughter's graduation from medical school. I made 3 cards so she would have a choice. (DH just called to tell me to put my car in the garage becaue golf ball sized hail is coming our way. Ack!) Anyway, this is the first. I wanted to make something special for this young lady. She has done some remarkable things in her life; like traveling to third world countries to help those less fortunate. She has set high goals and wants to make a difference in the world.
I did just a bit of coloring, as I paper pieced Bella's outfit. I added a couple of black lines on her feet so I could "make" shoes. For embellishments, I made a tag, tied it and the "2010" charm together, and attached it under the knotted ribbon. I also made a simple box to present the card in. I used PTI Stamper's Select, so it's light but sturdy, and my Scor-Pal. I coordinated it with the DP and added her monogram. Inside, the bottom of the box is lined with white felt.
Image/Sentiment: Stamping Bella
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Melon Mambo, g.c.d studios DP
Embellies: Watch Us Pewter Charm, White Grosgrain Ribbon (my stash)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal, Spellbinders Nestabilities, QuicKutz Blossom Alphabet, DMC White Floss, Foam Tape
Thanks for stopping by today!
