Celebrate

Good morning!  It's the first Saturday of the month so that means it's "Anything Goes" at Catch the Bug! Could it get any easier than anything goes?  I love the freedom!

Speaking of freedom, I couldn't resist Margaret in her patriotic finery!  She's colored with pencils and I've accented her star accessories with glitter, along with adding Glossy Accents to her glasses.  I found a fun sketch and layered the circle under the center panel instead of putting it on top.  The sentiment is die cut three times and layered.

Christmas Chaos: Here Comes Santa Claus

Good morning!  Today kicks off Day 1 of Catch the Bug's Christmas Chaos...there will be fun challenges (and prizes to be won!) for 7 days!  Today's challenges is Anything Goes with a "Here Comes Santa Claus" theme.

I went with a fun image that reminds me of Christmas when I was a child...putting out the milk and cookies for Santa!  Along with carrots for the reindeer, of course!  This is something we did with our children too...only it was me who got to sample the goodies.  The image is colored with pencils and I've accented Santa's hat with glitter.  I've embellished simply with a die cut chocolate chip cookie.

HB2U

Good morning!  I have a card to share using this week's From the Heart Stamps Sketch #108...here it is:

Great sketch!  I made an A2 card instead of a square though.  My Birdbrain is colored with pencils and accented with some glitter.  Don't you just love the expression on her face?  She looks how I feel when I have another birthday!  LOL  For embellishing, I've used my QuicKutz hand tool and "Metro" alphabet for the sentiment.  I like how this one turned out...the patterned paper is one of my favorites...I will be really sad when I use it all up!

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Party Hat Birdbrain" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Winter Wisteria and Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug Patterned Paper

The image is colored with pencils and I've added some subtle glitter to the Christmas ball and some sparklier glitter to Santa's hat.  I used an ornament die cut and framed the image by die cutting a hole in the middle.  Papers are Doodlebug and I've embellished simply with brads.

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning!  It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug; Humor Me holidays for this week are:

9th: Chaos Never Dies Day
12th: Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
13th: World Kindness Day
14th: Operating Room Nurse Day
15th: Clean Your Refrigerator Day

Since I'm a nurse, I was compelled to go with "Operating Room Nurse Day".  Nurse Margaret is ready to obtain that pre-op blood sample; quick, run the other way!  LOL

I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday...love their sketches!  Margaret is colored with pencils; I've embellished with a die cut band-aide and some Bella Dots.  Not so sure what I think of my color combo here...I used SU!'s retired Blush Blossom thinking that it looked like the color of a band-aid, but now that the card is done it looks more pink-ish.  Hmmm, I guess I will send this one to a female....

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo "Nurse Margaret-Hurt a Little" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Blush Blossom, Ballet Blue, and Poppy Parade

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow, which I've combined with this week's From the Heart Stamps Sketch #79.  This fortnight Valou has chosen the challenge of "Anything Goes"...I went with a birthday card...always good to keep some in the stash!  Check out the FTHS sketch below:

Poor old Birdbrain doesn't look too happy about having a birthday!  She's colored with pencils and I've pulled some old patterned papers from my stash...they are some of my favorites.  I actually did score lines in the top panel and around the image, but it is hard to detect them in the photo...it does add a nice bit of texture in real life.  I've used ribbon and a die cut sentiment for embellishing.

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Birthday Candle Birdbrain" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Berry Sorbet and Dark Chocolate, American Crafts Patterned Paper
Embellies: PTI Berry Sorbet Stitched Ribbon

Show Us Your Santa

Good morning!  Welcome to Bugaboo's 4th Annual Christmas in July Blog Hop; our theme for today is "Show Us Your Santa"!  Please join us for a week of fun challenges; not only can you get a head start on your Christmas cards, there are prizes!  It's a win-win!

If you have arrived from Jen's blog you are on the right track, if not you will want to click here so you won't miss her amazing Santa creation:

I went with Gus for my Santa creation...you can never go wrong with Gus!  The image is colored with pencils and I've embellished with die cut cookies and Bella Dots.

Note to self: Next time consider real cookies....  I've had the die in my stash for a long time, but had never used it.  I had no idea how tedious it would be to actually "make" the cookies!  Here's how it went: Die cut each cookie in 2 colors.  Remove "chocolate chip" from second die cut with tweezers and glue onto cookie, being careful to line it up "just so" while not squishing the glue all over.  Ooops!  The chocolate chips can be pushed through the cookie leaving a hole!  Hmmm, what to do?  I  decide I can rotate the cookie, so that the "chocolate chips" don't line up, and glue second die cut to the bottom of the first die cut.  Wait!  First I must trim around the die cut so you can't see it....  Yep, that's how it went!  After all that hard work I really needed a real cookie to reward myself, plus I think it would have been faster to whip up a batch from scratch!  LOL

Image: Bugaboo "Christmas Gus-Got Cookies?" Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Real Red, PTI Dark Chocolate, Coordinations CS (cookie), Bella BLVD. Patterned Paper

Lucky Shamrock

Good morning!  I have a card to share using the adorable Hamlet PigWit, who is From the Heart Stamps March Stamp of the Month.  This set comes with 2 versions; the one I have used today and one with a butterfly and daffodils...both are adorable!

If you played along with last month's progressive challenge, you received this image for free.  If not, there is still time to play along....  You can purchase the image in the shop or if you spend $10 in the shop, you can enter THINKSPING to receive it free.  If you play along this month, you will automatically receive the April image for free.  Sounds good, right?  Right!

I have used the Mojo Monday sketch and kept it clean and simple.  Hamlet is colored with pencils; I have tried to color him as I remember the pigs when I was growing up on the farm.  They aren't really white, but they are not pink either...just a hint of blush is how I would describe them.  I've added just a touch of glitter to a few of the shamrocks and coated the die cut shamrock with glitter.  I like how this simple sketch lets Hamlet shine!
