You're so tweet

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at From the Heart Stamps; the twist this week is to make an easel card.  You can play along with the sketch, the twist, or both...here it is:

I really would like to keep making snowman cards (this sketch would be perfect to embellish with pretty snowflakes!), but decided to go with a spring image since (hopefully) it's on the way!  The image is colored with pencils and I've done some simple layering.  I've embellished with buttons (shanks removed) and mini brads (to mimic the ladybug's spots).

Sketch Saturday #401

Good morning sketch fans!  We have a great new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday, along with a new sponsor...Bugaboo!  One of my favorites for sure...(wink!)  Here's the sketch:

I've also included the February Color Challenge from Catch the Bug, here's the palette:

This sketch was perfect for one of Jodie's new images...I just love her chicks and there are a few to choose from...okay, I had to get all the birthday ones!  The chick is colored with pencils and accented with 3 types of glitter (bright pink iridescent "eyeshadow", subtle clear to her feathers, and white iridescent to her hat and balloons).  I've embellished simply with  a knotted ribbon.  Here's a close-up of the glitter detail:

Congratulations to Ewe

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means it's our "Anything But a Card" (ABC) post at Catch the Bug.  I have to admit this is always a real challenge for me; I struggle to come up with ideas!  I always see the other ABC projects and think "That's awesome, why didn't I think of that?!"

We are in graduation mode at our house, so that's where my idea for this gift box came from.  Our daughter is a senior this year and I'm in the midst of planning her reception...invitations, venue, food, decorations, etc.  If any of you have experience with this, I would love to hear your tips!  Really...please leave them in the comment section...thank you!

I think this ewe is so darn cute!  She's colored with pencils and I've added some glitter to the stars.  I've layered her with die cuts, added a band and twine to the box...quick and easy packaging...hopefully fun too!  (I'm thinking I may need a lot of these!)  The gable box is from Hobby Lobby, purchased for 50% off, so a pretty good deal.

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Summer Sun CS, PTI True Black CS
Embellies: Doodlebug Glitter (yellow), Devine Twine
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape

Flurry of Wishes

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means we have a new sketch (and twist) for you at From the Heart Stamps...here it is:

I had to use one of Faith's newest images...Flurry!  (It is so appropriate for the weather we are getting here.  For the last 4 weeks we have had snow or blizzards at the beginning of the week...thankfully it was just snow on Sunday, I think it will be okay getting to work Monday.)  I think this is one of the cutest snowmen ever!  I've colored it with pencils and added just a touch of glitter to his heart.  I kept it clean and simple with minimal layering, and added some paper piercing and brads for interest, along with a die cut snowflake.  Here's a close-up:

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Flurry" Digital Set

In My Heart Birdbrain

Good (late) morning!  I have a card to share using this week's From the Heart Stamps sketch, along with the twist to "Make it a Valentine".  It's a good one!  Here it is:

When I first looked at it, I thought I would make a clean and simple card....  Then I realized my image was too big, so I made it into a square.  Then I realized the pattern papers all blended together, so I matted them.  Does this ever happen to you?!  LOL  Oh well, I love the image (and the sparkly heart!) and I think the sketch is still recognizable so it's all good!

Image: From the Heart Stamps "In My Heart Birdbrain" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Baja Breeze CS, Pure Poppy CS, TPC Studio Patterned Papers
Embellie: Martha Stewart "Candy Apple" Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Lil' Inker Designs Square Die, Spellbinders Heart Dies, Foam Tape

Project 100 Snowmen Blog Hop

Good morning!  It's time for From the Heart Stamps February Blog Hop; our theme this month is "Project 100 Snowmen"...hop along for some fabulous inspiration from the DT!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry.  One random commentor will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from Faith's store.

If you have arrived from the From the Heart Stamps blog you are in the right place, if not why don't you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog so that you don't miss anything?

We were challenged to create a card using one of Faith's "Project 100 Snowmen" images...this was such a fun theme since I happen to love snowmen!  For my card today I have used the adorable  "Snowman Valentine".   The image is colored with pencils and I've layered it with die cuts and foam tape to create a shaker card.  (Note to self: It's a good idea to look up a tutorial instead of "winging it" when trying a new technique!  LOL  I had paper and dies all over the place...next time I try one of these it will go much quicker!)  The beads are from SU!...I have had them in my stash for years and never used them...I'm really glad I  found them; surprisingly they were right where I thought they were!  LOL  I had planned to embellish with hearts, but I went with snowflakes and Swarovski flatback crystals.  The "snowy" paper and snowflakes are reminiscent of the blizzard we had earlier this week!  The sketch I used is from Die Cuttin' Divas.  Here are some detail close-ups:

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Baja Breeze CS, PTI Pure Poppy CS, Lawn Fawn Patterned Papers, The Paper Studio Glitter CS, PTI Acetate
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Light Siam", SU! Beads
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities and Snowflake Die, Lawn Fawn Snowflake Dies, Foam Tape

Now head on over to Brenda's blog to check out her fabulous creation!

Thanks for hopping along with us today; the hop will end on Monday, February 8th at 6:00 a.m. EST.  Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps blog on Wednesday, February 10th.

Challenge entered:

A Snowflakes Promise: Christmas/Winter

Good morning!  It's New Release Tuesday at Bugaboo...I just love this adorable bee Jodie has drawn...he was fun to color!

I found a fun sketch and used some patterned paper from my stash...I like the bright yellow paired with pink and red...it's a bit different!  The edges are rounded with the Corner Chomper for interest, I've accented the image with lots of sparkly glitter, and added a banner and some bling for embellishing.  Here's a close-up:

You're so tweet

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you, along with a twist..."Hearts, Hearts, and More Hearts"!  You can play along using the sketch, the twist, or both...here's the sketch:

I went with the sketch and the twist!  The image is colored with pencils and I've added a healthy dose of the sparkly stuff!  I was using scraps and thought I would be able to run the stripes up and down...no such luck!  I had already colored the image to coordinate with the paper so I just went for it....  What do you think?  Does it look odd?  I've embellished simply with die cut hearts and a sentiment.  This could make a good Valentine, or even a "Thank you".

Ink: Printer, Signo Black Gel Pen
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Blushing Bride, PTI True Black, Patterned Paper (scraps from my stash)
Embellie: Martha Stewart "Sugar Cube" Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Lil' Inker Designs Heart Dies, Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here, along with the challenge details.  We hope you will give the challenge a try!
