Congratulations to Ewe

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means it's our "Anything But a Card" (ABC) post at Catch the Bug.  I have to admit this is always a real challenge for me; I struggle to come up with ideas!  I always see the other ABC projects and think "That's awesome, why didn't I think of that?!"

We are in graduation mode at our house, so that's where my idea for this gift box came from.  Our daughter is a senior this year and I'm in the midst of planning her reception...invitations, venue, food, decorations, etc.  If any of you have experience with this, I would love to hear your tips!  Really...please leave them in the comment section...thank you!

I think this ewe is so darn cute!  She's colored with pencils and I've added some glitter to the stars.  I've layered her with die cuts, added a band and twine to the box...quick and easy packaging...hopefully fun too!  (I'm thinking I may need a lot of these!)  The gable box is from Hobby Lobby, purchased for 50% off, so a pretty good deal.

Sketch Saturday

Good morning sketch fans!  It's Saturday so that means we have a great new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday...check it out:

I was a little bit stumped with the top panel, but then I thought of clouds!  I got out a Cat's Pajamas stamp set and some dies.  I had fun with this one; there's no coloring so it was a change of pace...a bit of paper piecing and die cutting.  I've embellished with Swarovski flatback crystals, buttons, and twine.  I love all the sparkle and texture!

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight I got to choose the challenge.  I love when it's my turn!  I went with "Humor"...I hope you will pull out your funny images and play along!

I used this week's From the Heart Stamps Sketch #109 and a Birdbrain.  She is colored with pencils and of course I had to glitter up her eyelids and tummy...that is part of the fun!  I pulled out some fun birthday papers from my stash and went with one of my favorite color combos...yellow and pink.  I embellished simply with a button/twine.

JOY Tag

I'm back with a tag for Bugaboo's Christmas in July Thursday "Tag You're It" challenge!  I made a tag to go with a gift box of cupcakes.  The sentiment is colored with pencils and accented with glitter; I've utilized some die cuts and added twill and twine for embellishing.

You can see the tag a bit better in this shot; I was having a hard time photographing the box...the clear window made a "glare" on the photo.

Sentiment: Bugaboo Stamps
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, The Paper Studio DP
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", PTI Dark Chocolate Twill, Divine Twine
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, PTI Tag Sale 3 Die, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, McGill Circle Punch
Cupcake: Red Velvet Twist (Red Velvet w/ Mini Chocolate Chips, White Chocolate Peppermint Buttercream, Mini Chocolate Chips)

Patriotic Monkey

Good morning!  We have another fun challenge for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches...it's a great sketch so I hope you will play along.

I went with a Bugaboo sock monkey...I seem to have a weakness for monkeys!  The image is colored with pencils and I've added some subtle glitter to the stars and stripes.  I've embellished simply with buttons and twine.  I like the twist of the Bermuda Bay with the red/white/blue!

Image: Bugaboo
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Pure Poppy, SU! Bermuda Bay, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: PTI Buttons, Devine Twine, Martha Stewart "Cararra Marble" Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, Corner Chomper, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's creations...maybe leave a little love for their efforts!

Well, Hello!

I thought the colors from The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday challenge looked like fun, so I thought I'd play along. I found some SU! DP that worked perfectly and I decided to go with this cute bunny...one last nod to the summer that has come and gone. How can it be fall already?!

The image is colored with pencils and I paper pieced some of the pinwheels. I ran the image panel through the Cuttlebug to add a bit of texture and added some felt grass for more texture. (The grass was actually scraps I had sitting on the table...isn't it great when you get the opportunity to use up scraps?) I used some tiny brads in the center of the pinwheels along with a black gel pen for the bunny's eyes. I stamped my sentiment on DP and paired it with a rosette made from a TCP CutUps die...they really are easy to make. I topped the rosette with a button tied off with Divine Twine.

Image: The Cat's Pajamas
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Smokey Shadow, SU! Rich Razzleberry, SU! DSP Cottage Wall
Embellies: Spare Parts Mini Brads, PTI Ripe Avocado Button, Devine Twine in Oyster
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, TCP Easy Rosette CutUps die, MFT Die-namics Grass Die/Felt

I used Jen del Muro's September Sketch For You To Try...it was a good one, I'm sure I'll be using it again.

Thanks for stopping by today!
