Happy Birthday!

Good morning!  It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch the Bug...I love breaking out those fun images from my stash!  I have a fun, colorful birthday card to share...add cupcakes and sparkle to the mix and you can't go wrong!  The cupcakes are colored with pencils and I've added a touch of glitter to the cherries on top.  I pulled some fun paper from my stash and added some sparkly CS too.  For embellishing I've added some mini brads and a candle tied with twine.

Christmas Recipe

I'm back with my final Bugaboo Christmas in July challenge card...woo hoo, I was able to get them all done!  It was indeed a challenge, but a fun one!

This last challenge was a recipe:

1. Tied Up With a Bow: use a ribbon bow
2. Keepin' Warm: include at lease 3 layers
3. Let It Sparkle: use glitter or bling
4. A Little Eggnog: use the color cream

1, 2, 3, 4: check, check, check, check!

Scarlett is colored with pencils and I've accented the fur on her dress with glitter.  The papers are distressed and I've added some coordinating banners, adorned with a chocolate ribbon.  The final touch was a smattering of Swarovski AB crystals...I like the way they pick up the pink and blue in the DP.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, and Pure Poppy, My Mind's Eye DP
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "AB", SU! Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon

Cupid Stella

I had to try out some more of my new paper and I couldn't resist using Stella again...I think she is a hoot!  I like that the DP is a bit non-traditional color-wise.  Can't say that I've made too many blue Valentines....  Stella is colored with pencils and accented with glitter...it's hard to see in the photo, but I even added a touch to her blue eye shadow....  Now that's hot!

Creative Card Crew: Seeing Red

Good morning!  It's time for another fun challenge from the Creative Card Crew team; our challenge this fortnight is "Seeing Red" and our sponsor is Pizzazz Aplenty.

When I was planning my card for this challenge, I thought of Stella's Red Hat Society images, but as I was looking through my stamps I came across this fun image.  Since it's so close to Valentine's Day, I thought I would go with it.  I've been hoarding this DP, but thought it would go perfectly with Stella so I finally took the plunge and cut into it.  Does anybody else have that problem?  Not wanting to actually use your supplies?  Yes, I do realize that there is plenty more DP out there!  LOL

Stella is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I couldn't resist adding glitter to her fancy boots...wish I had a pair of those!  I used a simple layout and embellished my card simply with ribbon and a diecut sentiment.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Real Red and Elegant Eggplant, Carolee's Creations DP
Embellies: Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter (wings), Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust" (on red), PTI Pure Poppy Grosgrain Ribbon, SU! Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Die, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

What do you think?  Is she a hot tamale or what?  LOL  I hope you will head on over to the Creative Card Crew blog to check out the rest of the DTs' creations.  I would love to see your take on "Seeing Red" too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Corrosive Challenge #111

Hello there! I think I am just scraping by to get this challenge card completed.... The Corrosive Challenge Blog had a sketch challenge this week and their sponsor was Bugaboo Stamps, so I just had to play along and use this fun image of Scarlett that I received from Totally Stampalicious. They offer a few of the Bugaboo images in clear stamps.

Scarlett is colored with pencils and cut out with Spellbinder's dies. I love this paper from the Echo Park "Life is Good" line, so I kept the embellishing to a minimum so I wouldn't cover it up! I had originally planned to use a flower, but that didn't look right...at the last minute I found a flower button...I thought it was perfect. Inside the card reads: "Paper-$896

Markers and ink-$1194

Stamps-$6872

Handmade card...

PRICELESS!"

I thought the sentiment was pretty funny...something any stamper can relate to!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: SU! Daffodil Delight, PTI Dark Chocolate, Echo Park "Life is Good" DP

Embellie: Button (my stash)

Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, DMC Floss

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you are having a terrific weekend!

Red Hat Society 50th Birthday

Hello and "Happy Friday"! How about a silly card to get the weekend off on a good note? One of my bosses at work asked me to make a birthday card for her sister-in-law...she requested the "Red Hat" theme. I couldn't really find any red/purple DP, so I decided to go with CS ran through the Cuttlebug...I thought the paisley was perfect! I am hoping I don't offend her with the slightly risque image. I'm thinking she will get a kick out of it...stubbly legs and all! LOL

The image is by Bugaboo Stamps, but I purchased the clear set from Totally Stampalicious. It has a few cute sayings to go with it. I struggled with how to make this a birthday card (without a birthday sentiment), but finally decided to put the "50" on the front...I think that makes it birthday worthy. I die cut some numbers, stamped the sentiment on vellum, die cut it, and used bling to hide the glue. It seemed to work out well. Stella is colored with pencils and the bow on her hat and her jewelry are accented with glitter. I added some bling to pull it all together.

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo Clear Set from Totally Stampalicious
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Royal Velvet, SU! Lavendar Lace and Real Red, The Paper Studio Vellum
Embellies: Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Me and My Big Ideas Bling
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Cuttlebug "Paisley" Embossing Folder, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, QuicKutz "Blossom" Numbers

That's it for today.... Thanks for stopping by; have a super weekend!
