April Showers

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Manuela has chosen our challenge and it is...Paper Piecing!  Fun challenge for sure!

I've used a cute and spring-y image and a fun mix of papers for my paper piecing and die cuts.  The image is colored with pencils and her rain coat and boots are paper pieced; I've embellished with ribbon, Bella Baubles, and die cut clouds.  I love the patterned papers...they are so bright and cheery!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you to try at Tuesday Morning Sketches; this week Kris chose our sketch to revisit from last year.  For this challenge we also have a twist...lace and pearls.  (Yes, I know...I am twistless....)

The darling bear is colored with pencils, embellished with glitter and he has a paper pieced balloon.  I decided to go a bit untraditional and went with a blue card base...just for fun.  I used my Corner Chomper to add some interest to the layers and embellished with a ribbon.

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew; for this fortnight our sponsor is Stamp Fairy and our theme is "Teddy Bear Picnic"...we would like to see you use Teddy Bears on your card.  This was a fun one!  Stamp Fairy has adorable bears, so I pulled Barry from my stash and whipped up a Halloween card.  As for the picnic...I'm sure this little cutie will soon be munching on his Halloween treats!

I combined this challenge with the Digi Sketch Challenge, which was a sketch and a 1,2,3 challenge (now that's really a challenge!).  The image is colored with pencils and Barry's eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I pulled some papers from my stash that are bright and cheery...not scary, and embellished with glittery bats and Bella Dots.

Herb is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  His eyes (and the sun) are dotted with a gel pen.  I've cut out part of the popsicle and sun and popped them up...I've also applied a bit of glitter.  I used some cute Doodlebug paper from my stash, along with a button and twine for embellishing.

I had fun making this card!  I printed the image multiple times so I could paper piece Patsy's raincoat, boots, and umbrella.  The other portion of the image is colored with pencils and her eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I let the cute cloud DP do the work for me and embellished simply with ribbon, Bella Baubles, and diecut clouds.

I chose the adorable Herb Love 3 to work with...thank you, Stamp Fairy!  Herb is colored with pencils, cut out, and accented with glitter and a tiny black button.  I diecut a heart border to "perch" him on, then added some ribbon to finish my card.

I liked the simple sketch this week; if you like you can jazz it up with embellishments.  I used the leftover negative from a chevron diecut for my border, and added a button a some bling.

Fancy Folds

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew team; this fortnight our sponsor is Stamp Fairy and our challenge is "Fancy Folds".  Today I am working with the Tommy Here Comes Santa collection...thank you, Gerda, for the adorable image!

I'll have to say that "fancy folds" threw me for a bit of a loop...I tend to be a  no-frills stamper and I knew I would need some help with this one.  I went to Splitcoast Stampers, found a tutorial for a "T-Slide Card", and went to work!  I found the instructions to be fairly easy to follow and it helped that there were pictures.  My photos don't show the folding/scoring involved, that part is behind the image panel.  Below you can see the card opened and completely closed.

Creative Card Crew: Dimension Challenge

Good (early) morning!  Today the Creative Card Crew has another fun challenge...dimension!  Our sponsor for this fortnight is Stamp Fairy; I love Gerda's images!  I made a stop at Gerda's store and picked up some images...today I am working with "Lenny Bee2"...he is a cutie for sure!

I printed the image twice so I could cut out Lenny's head, arm, and a wing after coloring them.  I used dimensionals to add a bit of height. I did a bit of distressing for added texture and made use of a lot of dies to embellish my card.  Let's not forget the glitter...my favorite embellishment of all!

Creative Card Crew: Spring

Good morning!  It's time for another fun challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew; our theme for this fortnight is "Spring" and our sponsor is StampFairy.  I love Gerda's images...am always happy when I get to work with one!

My friend Denise was telling me about her bathroom remodel and it sounded so pretty, that I thought I would borrow her color palette for this card.  Blue and yellow...isn't it fresh and pretty?  Just like Spring!

Lenny is colored with pencils and his eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut and layer the image,  then added some acrylic gems and grosgrain ribbon for embellishments.  I used the sketch from Create With Connie and Mary, not realizing it was supposed to be Stampin' Up! only.  It really is a fun sketch...will probably use it again.

TMS#130

Good Tuesday morning!  Jessica, from Tuesday Morning Sketches, has drawn us a fun sketch to work with this week.  Our sponsor is Stamp Fairy; Gerda has the cutest digital images!  I was going to get a new image, but the more I looked the more I found that I liked....  I just couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the image I already had....  Barry is really fun to color....

I went the clean and simple route with this card, but I would like to try the sketch again and take it up a notch.  Isn't versatility great?  Barry is colored with Prisma pencils and accented with glitter.  I wanted to let the DP shine, so I used just some simple beads for the sentiment.  Was thinking of adding some snowflakes, but I made myself stop...after all, the snowflakes on the DP are so pretty.

Image: Stamp Fairy Digital Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Orchid Opulence and Soft Suede, Crate Paper DP
Embellies: Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter (Barry's hat), Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust" (snow), Alphabet Beaads (Hobby Lobby)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, DMC Floss

I really can't wait to see everyone's take on Jessica's sketch!  I hope you'll check them out too and leave the DT a bit of love for their efforts.  I would also love to see your take on the sketch!

I am also entering this card in the Crafty Cardmakers challenge, which is to use beads.

Thanks for stopping by today; have a great week!

Barry's Snowman

Good morning!  Today the card I have to share was a fun one to make...it combines lots of challenges!  Yesterday I printed the sketch for the challenge at SCS and used that as a starting point.

The image I used is a digital stamp from Stamp Fairy; I think Barry and his little snowman are adorable!  The image is colored with pencils and accented with 2 kinds of glitter; subtle glitter for Barry's hat and glitter with a bit more sparkle for the snow/snowflakes.  I used some Spellbinder's dies for the snowflakes, and then coated the white ones with glitter.  As I was making a mess, I thought of my glitter paper!  Hmmm, why do I usually forget to use it?   LOL  I added a brad to the middle of the snowflakes and elevated them with a dimensional.

Image: Stamp Fairy Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Basic Gray, KI Memories DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust"

Happy Tuesday! As you know, on Tuesdays we have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.... This week we have a twist though...our sketch is from Theresa! Our sponsor is Stamp Fairy; isn't this little teddie adorable?! Check them out...they have cute images!
I decided to go with a monochromatic look this week, but ended up adding a bit of white when I found I didn't have matching ribbon. The image is colored with pencils and the bear's eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.

TMS#81: Folded Frame Cards

Good morning and "Happy Tuesday"! It's always fun when Tuesday rolls around, because we have another fun challenge from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches! This week there will be no sketch...our challenge is to make a "Folded Frame" card. Click here to see a tutorial. Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy.

I choose my image from the "Freebies" section. I thought he was quite quirky and fun! I colored the little guy with pencils, cut him out, and then glittered up the turquoise areas. To finish him off, I used 2 googlie eyes...love those googlie eyes!

I used some really neat DP from Daisy Bucket Designs; I found it at a scrapbooking store for 25 cents a sheet! I just love bargains like that! Anyway, it has the nicest texture, and it's double sided.

Image: Stamp Fairy Digital Image
Sentiment: Stampendous "Changito in Space" Clear Set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate, Daisy Bucket Designs DP
Embellies: Bella Dots, Marthat Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Googlie Eyes (Hobby Lobby)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, EK Success 3D Dots

When I was working on this card, my 10 year old son asked if this was a Suzy's Zoo stamp. Are you familiar with Suzy's Zoo? The images are adorable! I was surprised to know my son was familiar with them. After I finished the card, I asked what he thought.... He said he liked it, but indicated he was too old for a card like this! LOL I was thinking I was so clever to make a "little man" card...I guess my little man is growing up!

Check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with....now, it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you come up with (I would really love to see some cards made with this cute little image---don't forget, he's a freebie!). Remember, this week is a judged challenge so there's a prize up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
