You're Super

Good morning!  It's Tuesday so that means I'm back with a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Doodle Pantry is our sponsor for this challenge; I've used a pre-colored digi from the Super Birdie set.  I love how the pre-colored images make putting a card together so quick!

I've put my Spellbinder's dies to good use by die cutting the image and sentiment.  I've added some grosgrain ribbon and gems for embellishing.

Clearly Digi Stamps June Release

Good morning!  It's Clearly Digi Stamps June Release time.  I have 2 sets to showcase today.  Father's Day Heroes and Summer Fun.  The new store is up and running, so be sure to stop by and check things out!

My first card uses a pre-colored image from Father's Day Heroes.  I paired it with an old MFT sketch and used some fun boy themed papers from my stash.  The image is printed, cut out, and adhered to the main panel.  I've added a banner, die cut stars, and brads for embellishing.  The cool round/star die cut is a Spellbinder's die given to me by my crafty/swapping friend, Heather.  Thank you Heather!  I think this card will go to my son who turns 13 tomorrow...he is my superstar for sure!

Next I have a CAS card using Summer Fun.  I used Retro Sketches #65.  I printed, colored, cut out, and popped up the beach ball.  I was lucky enough to find some DP that reminded me of waves.  I used a sentiment from CDS Carnival Kids and added some orange, sparkly Bella Dots.

Oh Baby!

Hello there!  It's time for our fortnightly challenge at Creative Card Crew; our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and our theme is "Stars".

I had a bit of a struggle coming up with a "star" plan, but then I came across the Retro Sketch and I was set. I decided to go with a baby card...no stamping involved here...I let the cute paper and dies do all the work!  I embellished with a bit of this and that...mini brads, sparkly CS, a button, and a snippet of ribbon.  I think I may try a girl version of this....

Embellies: Recollections White Mini Brads, PTI Blueberry Sky Button (DMC Floss), Felt, and Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: MFT Onesie and Stacking Stars Die-namics Dies, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Creative Card Crew...Inspired by a Song

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew; this fortnight our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and we would like your card to be inspired by a song.  I'll bet you are thinking that my song is "Happy Birthday"...right?!  Nope!  Actually, the inspiration for my card came from Adele...I love the "21" disc and listen to it a lot....  I thought I would make a 21st birthday card, but when I got out the number dies I realized that they could be used for 12 too.  Since my son will be turning 12 in a few days, I switched gears and went with a "little man" card.

I used some fun birthday paper from my stash and pulled the green to use for my card base.  I simply matted the DP, diecut some numbers, embossed the background diecut and added some brads.  My daughter told me it was a "little plain", but I'm thinking it's just about right for a 12 year-old boy....  We shall see!  LOL

Paper: PTI New Leaf and Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads
Extras: PTI Dies, Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" Embossing Folder

I hope you will stop on over at the Creative Card Crew blog to see what the rest of the girls have made to inspire you.  If you play along, you'll have the chance to win a prize from Simon Says Stamp!

Thanks for stopping by!

February SFYTT

Good morning!  Wow, 4 posts in 3 days...I must be setting a record here!  LOL  I just barely squeaked in Jen del Muro's February Sketch For You To Try.  I uploaded to SCS last night, so I made the cutoff....

It seems lately I keep reaching for Changito!  I decided to go with a "little man" card today; I thought this Doodlebug DP would be perfect...I love the bright colors.  The images are colored with pencils and accented with subtle glitter (couldn't help it...it's not too sparkly though).  Changito's eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I added a bit of Baker's Twine and some brads for embellishing.

Stamps: Stampendous
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Dark Chocolate, and Pure Poppy, Doodlebug DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Embellies: PTI Pure Poppy Baker's Twine, Spare Parts Brads, Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Extras: Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Dimensionals

SC326: Changito in Space

Hello there! I was finally able to get to this week's sketch challenge on SCS and I combined it with The Corrosive Challenge Blog's challenge which was to use stars. Woo hoo! 1 card, 2 challenges...I like that! Have you ever had a vision and your finished card just didn't really measure up? Well, that's what happened here.... LOL I'm thinking this will be a good one for a "little man"; not too little though, or I will have to find something to cover the end of the pin. The space ship is stamped on metallic silver paper; I added a bit of color with pencils and then some glitter. Changito is stamped again on CS, colored, cut out and adhered. The stars are punched out of Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS. Image: Stampendous Clear Set "Changito in Space" Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, SU! Brushed Silver, Daisy Bucket Designs DP, Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Doodlebug Glitter Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Quilting Pin, EK Success Star Punches, EK Success 3D Dots That's it for tonight; thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend! TMS#81: Folded Frame Cards

Good morning and "Happy Tuesday"! It's always fun when Tuesday rolls around, because we have another fun challenge from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches! This week there will be no sketch...our challenge is to make a "Folded Frame" card. Click here to see a tutorial. Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy.

I choose my image from the "Freebies" section. I thought he was quite quirky and fun! I colored the little guy with pencils, cut him out, and then glittered up the turquoise areas. To finish him off, I used 2 googlie eyes...love those googlie eyes!

I used some really neat DP from Daisy Bucket Designs; I found it at a scrapbooking store for 25 cents a sheet! I just love bargains like that! Anyway, it has the nicest texture, and it's double sided.

Image: Stamp Fairy Digital Image
Sentiment: Stampendous "Changito in Space" Clear Set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate, Daisy Bucket Designs DP
Embellies: Bella Dots, Marthat Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Googlie Eyes (Hobby Lobby)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, EK Success 3D Dots

When I was working on this card, my 10 year old son asked if this was a Suzy's Zoo stamp. Are you familiar with Suzy's Zoo? The images are adorable! I was surprised to know my son was familiar with them. After I finished the card, I asked what he thought.... He said he liked it, but indicated he was too old for a card like this! LOL I was thinking I was so clever to make a "little man" card...I guess my little man is growing up!

Check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with....now, it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you come up with (I would really love to see some cards made with this cute little image---don't forget, he's a freebie!). Remember, this week is a judged challenge so there's a prize up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
