Halloween Treat Container
Hello there! Since I was one of the lucky winners at Quirky Crafts "Quirky Monster" challenge, I was invited to be a guest designer for this challenge. How cool is that?! The challenge is "Anything But A Card" and is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.
I had seen a challenge, that involved recycling, that I also wanted to play so it was an easy decision to use an old Crystal Light container and turn it into something fun! I covered my container with DP and added a band in a coordinating print to dress it up a bit...I also used the same print for the lid. I used a cute image called Bearly a Pumpkin...thank you, Robyn! The bear is colored with pencils, accented with glitter, and cut/mounted with Nestabilities. I added some buttons, attached them with twine, and tied the twine in the back. (I wanted the image panel to gently curve, but not be stuck to the container. I just pulled the twine tight enough to curve; this allows you to see the full image from the front.)
This is what the finished container looks like...it's ready to fill with shredded paper, a gift card, and a sweet treat! It was inexpensive too...less than 50 cents! The container was free, the DP (love it...it reminds me of wall paper...it has wonderful texture!) was on sale, and I just added the twine and buttons. Quick, easy, inexpensive and cute...now that's my kind of project!

Creative Card Crew Challenge: Christmas Lights
Good morning! It's time for another challenge at the Creative Card Crew blog. This fortnight our challenge is "Christmas Lights". Our sponsor for the challenge is Robyn's Fetish and I chose a light of the old fashioned variety...a candle! I decided to do something a bit different and made a tag, and then wrapped the gift with extra DP so it would coordinate.
I printed the image, colored it with pencils, then die cut it. The tag is a PTI die; before cutting it, I applied a strip of DP. I added a Cheery Lynn flourish, some twill and twine.

Tuesday Morning Sketches
I thought it might be fun to paper piece Franny, so I paper pieced the kitty and then paper pieced her ears, nose, and heart. I colored the small pieces with a marker, cut them out and adhered them to Franny. All the panels were cut with Nestabilities and then mounted with the large scallop dies. The card is embellished simply with ribbon and paw print brads. My daughter thought the brads didn't go...she suggested I put them on Franny's paws.... Hmmm, not sure where she gets some of her ideas, but I think maybe it was just her ornery streak coming out!
