Lucky Birdbrain Chick

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Jennifer has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Anything Green".  Sounds good!

Since St. Patrick's day is right around the corner, I decided to go with Lucky Birdbrain Chick; the image is colored with pencils and I've added a lot of glitter so it is nice and sparkly.  I pulled out a past From The Heart Stamps sketch and the twist that week was monochromatic so that was perfect for R.R. theme!  I did add just a splash of pink for color.  Here's the sketch:

Summer Kisses

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you from Flat Friends...we would like you to use an uncolored image...what a fun twist!

Since it's Labor Day and we are saying goodbye to summer, I chose Em's image Summer Kisses...I love her glasses and floppy hat!  Since the image is black and white, I thought I would play with texture.  I've used textured vellum, dry embossing, grosgrain ribbon, and just a touch of glitter on the hearts.  I printed the image multiple times to achieve the dark outline, then popped it up on the card.

Image: Flat Friends 'Summer Kisses' Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", White Grosgrain Ribbon (stash)
Extras: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Foam Tape

This will be our last challenge at the Flat Friends blog.  I thought this image was the perfect "goodbye" and "thank you" to Em...she has been a doll to work for and I have loved being on her team.  Thank you for having me, Em!  I hope you will play along with our last challenge...we'd love to see what you create with an uncolored image!

Good morning...Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I've got a card to share using Faith's newest image and this week's From the Heart Stamps sketch.  We now have a weekly twist with our sketches...this week it is "Monochromatic".  I'm going for monochromatic with a splash of color....  LOL  Actually I was already working on a card that was monochromatic and then Faith put this adorable image in the shop and I decided to start all over.  I thought this Birdbrain would be cute with a splash of pink on her belly so I just went with it....

Monochromatic Green....

with a Pop of Color!  Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight I got to choose the challenge and since St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner, I went with "Monochromatic Green with a Pop of Color".

I went with one of my favorites...Bugaboo's Stella!  I just love her sass...I sure don't think I would pinch her!  LOL  She is colored with pencils...do you see her pretty raspberry lipstick?  I took my "pop" of color from that and added some raspberry matting...I kept the layout simple otherwise.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge

Good Wednesday morning!  It's time for a new Ruby's Rainbow challenge; this fortnight Sandra has challenged us to make a card with black and white, plus one other color.  Sounds fun, right?!

I chose SU! Peach Parfait and I just happened to have some matching DP in my stash!  (I love the SU! In Color DSP; there's a nice variety of patterns which are perfect for the monochromatic look.  I really need to order the new set of colors....)  I simply colored the flower, added a generous helping of glitter, and finished it off with a large black brad.  I added 3 small brads to the image panel and called it good.  I thought of adding ribbon, but decided against it...I like the crisp, clean look...sometimes simple works!

Image: Stamping Bella
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Basic Black, Peach Parfait CS and DSP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Crayola Colored Pencil, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will come on over to Ruby's Rainbow to gain some inspiration from the DT's creations.  What color will YOU choose to pair with black and white?  I can't wait to see!

Creative Card Crew: Merry Christmas from Claus

Hello there! It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew; this fortnight our challenge is "monochromatic" and our sponsor is Paper Pretties, who provided me with this adorable image. Isn't Claus just the cutest?

I printed my image on Sahara Sand and colored just a portion of it; I like how the red/green really stand out against the S.S. and black. I dotted Claus' with a gel pen and added a bit of glitter to his hat. I finished the card with a simple holly embellishment.

Image: Paper Pretties Digital Image
Paper: SU! Sahara Sand, PTI True Black, Fancy Pants Designs DP
Ink: Sakura Black Gel Pen
Embellies: Dress It Up Holly, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust"
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone

Please head on over to the Creative Card Crew blog so you can check out the rest of the DT's goodies. Would love to see you play along too!

It's Bellarific Friday!

Happy Friday! This week the theme of our challenge on Blogabella was monochromatic. It had me stumped a bit.... After looking through my stamps, I thought Violet Bittybloom would work well. I can't wait to see some real violets bloom!
The image is stamped, colored with Prismas/Goo Gone, cut out, and finally sprayed with some Glimmer Mist. It is hard to get a crisp picture, yet still capture the "pearl" finish. The lighter panels are embossed, and I embellished with some Bella Dots.
Image: Stamping Bella "Violet Bittybloom"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Smokey Shadow, SU! Elegant Eggplant and Lavendar Lace
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Cuttlebug/Embossing Folder, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in "Pearl", Foam Tape
Thanks for stopping by; have a great weekend!
