Thimble Bouquet

Good morning!  We are back from "Summer Break", at From the Heart Stamps, and I have a new card and sketch to share with you.  Along with the sketch, the "Twist" for the next 2 weeks is buttons; remember, you can do just the sketch, just the twist, or both!   Take a peek at the sketch:

I've colored the image with pencils and gone with a sewing motif.  The embossed background is pattern pieces and the "faux" buttons are die cut/embossed out of paper before poking holes and threading them with floss.

Here for You

Good morning!  We, at Tuesday Morning Sketches, have a new sketch for you to try.  Our sponsor this week is Clearly Digi Stamps; I went with Oliver Ostrich.  The set includes outlines, pre-colored images, sentiments, and 4 coordinating DPs...there's definitely something for everyone!

I combined a pre-colored image with a sentiment before printing, and chose a coordinating DP.  I embellished simply with ribbon and a button/Swarovski Crystal combo.

Image/Sentiment; Clearly Digi Stamps "Oliver Ostrich"
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet
Embellies: Grosgrain Ribbon (my stash), PTI Blueberry Skies Button, Swarovski Flatback Crystal
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, SU! Top Note Die, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

You can check out the challenge details and see the rest of the DT's creations here.  Why not try our fun sketch?  It's very versatile...you can go clean and simple and more elaborate...the choice is up to you!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

TMS#146

Good morning!  It's Tuesday, so that means it's time for another sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor for the week is DRS Designs and they provided me with this baby sentiment...thank you DRS!  I must confess...I love making baby cards!

I stamped my sentiment on CS, diecut it and layered it with another diecut.  I added a simple felt flower and diecut leaves.  The inside of the flower is embellished with a tiny button and a Swarovski crystal.  I like how this sketch lets your DP take center stage.

Sentiment: DRS Designs
Paper: SU! Passion Pink, PTI Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug DP
Ink: Palette Burnt Umber
Embellies: Handmade Flower (PTI Dark Chocolate Button, Swarovski Flatback Crystal in "Rose")
Extras: Spellbinders Nestabilities, SU! Sizzlets "Little Leaves" Die, MFT Die-namics Rolled Scalloped Rose Die

I hope you will head on over to the TMS blog to check out the rest of the DT's goodies.  Better yet, why not play along for a chance to win a fun prize?

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks: Sentiment Only
Blogger's Challenge: Oh Baby!
Creative Belli: Baby/New Arrival
Do You Stack Up? Challenge Blog: Use a Flower

Tuesday Morning Sketches #123

(For Creative Card Crew post, scroll down or click here.)

Good morning! It's time for another fun sketch from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches! Our sponsor this week is Tiffany Doodles.

I have to confess that I was a bit stumped by this weeks' sketch...I kept trying to figure out what I could stamp in the 3 panels...then it hit me that I didn't have to stamp in them all.... Alrighty then, off to find a small image that would "fit"!

The image is colored and accented with glitter and Crystal Effects. I paired the image with some Making Memories DP; the holly berries are red foil, which you can't see in the photo. (Why is it so difficult to photograph shimmer and shine? You don't always see the full effect.) I added a diecut, some ribbon, and a holly embellishment to finish the card.

Image: Stampendous
Paper: SU! Vintage Cream and Pure Poppy, SU! Wild Wasabi, Making Memories DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", SU! Crystal Effects, PTI Red Satin Ribbon, Dress It Up Holly
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, SU! Top Note Die, SU! Dimensionals

I hope you will check out the rest of the DTs' take on the sketch here; better yet, why not play along? I would love to see your interpretation!

Thanks for stopping by!
