a b c

Good morning!  Today is my last post as guest designer at Sketch Saturday...I have loved playing along; thank you so much, to the team, for having me!  It was fun this week since we were able to choose our sketch...there are a lot of great ones to choose from too....  Here's the one I choose:

Bugaboo is the sponsor for the week, so I combined this challenge with Bugaboo's End of Summer recipe challenge...use Bling, the color Teal, and a Die or a Punch.  Sounds fun, right?!  The end of summer means back-to-school to me, so I went with a fun Margaret image.  I'll bet the kids don't mess with Margaret!  LOL  She's colored with pencils and I've given her "diamond" earrings.  The fun patterned papers are Doodlebug and I've embellished with die cut stars and a-b-c, along with a bit more bling.  I like how this one turned out, I think I may send it to a friend who is studying to become a teacher.

Hmmm, school supplies!  Do you remember getting new school supplies every year?  That was always fun...a fresh, new beginning each year.  I liked school and fortunately my kids do too!

JJ is colored with pencils...I thought the image went so well with some fun paper from my stash.  For embellishing I have added some black mesh and an apple button, along with an assortment of goodies from the desk drawer...it was fun to "pile it on"!

Good morning!  I'm back with a new challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches; our sponsor for the week is Bugaboo Stamps...I always love working with their images!  We've got a great sketch too!

Today I've used Nuts About-books...doesn't he look delighted to be back in school and into the swing of things?  (My kids are in their second week and all is well...I'm so glad they both like school!  It really makes everything so much easier....)  The image is colored with pencils and I've dotted the eyes with a black gel pen.  I've popped up the main image and added and extra banner just for fun, along with a few brads for embellishing.

Clearly Digi Stamps August Release

Hello!  It's the 15th of the month, so that means it's release time for Clearly Digi Stamps!  There are a bunch of great new sets and I have samples to share using 2 of them: New Pastures, and Chalk Talk.

I love making baby cards, so I knew right away I wanted to work with New Pastures...the little lamb is adorable!  I am working with a pre-colored image from the set, plus a sentiment and digi paper.  This set made it super easy to put together a cute, coordinated card in a snap; I simply printed the elements, did a bit of layering and added some Bella Dots for embellishment!

Image/Sentiment: New Pastures
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Smokey Shadow
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Next I've used another fun set called Chalk Talk...it is perfect for back to school!  I made a band to go around a new planner for my daughter.  I simply layered the pre-colored image and sentiment before printing and added some brads for embellishment.  For the card, I again layered elements from the set before printing and fussy cutting them.  I added some distressed  DP, die cuts, and Bella Dots.  What about your kids?  Do they think "School rules!"?  I think I'm pretty lucky because both of mine do, especially my oldest; she is eager to go back to school next week!

Image/Sentiment: Chalk Talk
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen, SU! Black Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Scrappin' Sports & More! DP, Little Yellow Bicycle DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Bella Dots
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will head on over to Clearly Digi Stamps to check out the rest of the new release, and to get a bit of inspiration from the DT!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm with Genius

Good morning!  I've got another fun sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to share with you today; our sponsor is Guylou's Inimitability, below is a peek at the sketch.

The cute image was picked by my stamping friend Joanna.  We have a group of friends who take turns picking what image to use each month, then we share our cards...it's fun!  The image is colored with pencils and accented with a black gel pen.  I used a bit of ribbon and Bella Dots to embellish.

Paper: SU! Ruby Red and Basic Black
Embellies: SU! Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Bella Dots

Bellariffic Friday: Back to School

This week's theme for Bellariffic Friday was "Back to School". I had found this fun computer-themed paper, which was on clearance, during a shopping trip a long time ago. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use it, so my focus was the college girl going back to school.

The image was colored with Prismas/Goo Gone. I find coloring with the darker colors difficult for me.... If anybody has any tips, I would love to hear them! The card is embellished simply with a bit of glitter, some ribbon and Bella Dots (they rock!).

Image: Stamping Bella "Clickabella"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: SU! Ruby Red, PTI Pure Black, G.P. White, Basic Grey Ambrosia DP, Krop Talk DP
Embellies: Wright's Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Bella Dots, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders, Foam Tape

Well, it's my guess my monkeys won't be "back to school" today. School is already 2 hours late, with many around here being cancelled. We'll see....

Thanks for stopping by; have a goodie!
