Summer Kisses
Good morning! We have a new challenge for you from Flat Friends...we would like you to use an uncolored image...what a fun twist!
Since it's Labor Day and we are saying goodbye to summer, I chose Em's image Summer Kisses...I love her glasses and floppy hat! Since the image is black and white, I thought I would play with texture. I've used textured vellum, dry embossing, grosgrain ribbon, and just a touch of glitter on the hearts. I printed the image multiple times to achieve the dark outline, then popped it up on the card.
Image: Flat Friends 'Summer Kisses' Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", White Grosgrain Ribbon (stash)
Extras: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Foam Tape
This will be our last challenge at the Flat Friends blog. I thought this image was the perfect "goodbye" and "thank you" to Em...she has been a doll to work for and I have loved being on her team. Thank you for having me, Em! I hope you will play along with our last challenge...we'd love to see what you create with an uncolored image!

Diamonds are Forever
Good morning...happy August 1st! I can't believe how fast the summer is going.... With the new month comes a new challenge from Flat Friends; we would like to see you use a quote on your card. Here's what I came up with:
I used one of Em's new images...isn't she pretty? She's colored with pencils, cut out, and popped up. I went the "Tiffany" route with the aqua and added ribbon, a button, and Swarovski flatbacks for embellishing. The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches (I flipped it).
Sentiment: MFT
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select, Bazzill Bling CS
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals, PTI Button, Wright's Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone

1 Layer Card
Good morning! It's June 1st so that means it's time for a new challenge from Flat Friends...this month we would like to see a 1 layer card. Here's what I came up with:
I had fun with this one! I picked the adorable image because I knew she would look perfect perched in the corner...I also picked it because my daughter has a cupcake business and summer is a very busy time for her. (Today she had an order for Andes Mint, Dirt Cup, Bubblegum, and Pretty in Pink...yummy!) Once I was able to print my image in the right spot (Why is that so hard for me?), I got busy coloring with my pencils. It was fun to just enjoy the coloring process!

Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone
Please check out the rest of the DT's 1 layer creations here; we do hope you will play along this month!

Here Comes the Bride
Good morning! Flat Friends June challenge is "Anything But a Card"...after quite a bit of thought, I decided to go with a mini photo album (found on sale!) since this is the traditional wedding month. I've selected the lovely "Here Comes the Bride" and colored her with pencils; I had coordinating glitter paper in my stash to mat the image with, and added flowers and vine which are cut from felt. Here's a close-up...isn't she lovely?

Love Heart
Good (early) morning! I'm here with a new Flat Friends challenge for the month of May; this month we would like to see you use your dies and punches. When I saw this adorable new image, I thought of this heart border die and knew they'd be a perfect match! The image is colored, fussy cut, and popped up over the layered die cuts. I thought fussy cutting the image was a great idea...until I started doing it! LOL Does that ever happen to any of you? I've added a bit of bling for embellishing.

To One of My Favorite Peeps
Good morning! I was lucky enough to be asked to Guest Design for Sweet Stampin' this month! How cool is that? Today is my first post; the theme for this week is Easter.
It's no secret that I am a fan of chicks, so as I was looking through my stash of Flat Friends images "Chicks" was an easy pick! The chicks are colored with pencils; I've gone with a simple layout to keep the focus on them. I've embellished simply with a sentiment banner and some Swarovski flatback crystals. I love the colors in this patterned paper...they're so soft and pretty; I happened to find some coordinating glitter CS in my stash too, I love it when that happens!

Snap Me
Hello! It's time for our monthly challenge at Flat Friends; this month Em would like you to use a sentiment on your card. Sounds good, right?!
Hmmm, sentiments.... I rarely use one, so this was fun! I loved Em's new images for March; do you notice anything different about this cutie? She has a nose and a mouth! How fun is that?! This image made me think of this fun paper that I had in my stash; I used a bunch of the different patterns and went with a collage type card. (I used a sketch from The Paper Players)I've colored the image, cut it out, and adhered it to a Polaroid-style image, then added a bunch of die cuts, brads, beads, and some fun, sparkly lips (found in my Valentine embellie bin). The sentiment "Snap Me" refers to the Snapchats that my 15 year-old daughter and her friends love to send each other. I really had fun putting this one together! I hope you will break out the sentiments and play along with our challenge this month!

Flat Friends March Challenge
Good morning! Emma, from Flat Friends, has a new challenge for March...we are focusing on "Cards for Men". I don't know about you, but I rarely have "man cards" for my stash. Emma has a bunch of new masculine images, but I used an older one that made me think of good times ahead. I am really ready for warm weather...and food on the grill! How about you?
The image is colored with pencils and I've paired it with some fun DP from my stash; for embellishing, I've used brads and a bit of grosgrain ribbon.

I {Heart} U
Hello; it's time for the monthly Flat Friends challenge! For February we would like to see a card with more than one fold...sounds fun, right?! I went to SCS and looked through all the tutorials before deciding to try the Treat Box Card; it was hard to choose one since there were so many...what a great resource.
With the use of a Scor-Pal, the box was really quite easy to construct. You could really dress it up, but I kept it simple with just some DP. I've used one of Emma's darling Valentine images; she is both colored and paper pieced and I've also added a bit of sparkle. The image panel is simply adhered to the card front.
Image: Flat Friends "I Love You" Digital Image
Ink: Printer, SU! Going Gray Marker
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU! Strawberry Slush, Pinecone Press DP
Embellies: Art Glitters in"Polar Bear" and "Pink Smoothie"
Extras: SU! Oval Punch, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, Corner Chomper, Hershey Nuggets
Please check out all the "fun fold" creations the DT have created to inspire you...we hope you will play along!

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge from Emma at Flat Friends; for December we challenge you to use the colors blue/green/pink. Sounds fun, right?!
Color challenges are a bit tough for me, but I remembered this DP in my stash and went from there. I've used the adorable Puppy Love, which is colored with pencils, distressed the papers, and added a handmade felt flower and pearls for embellishing.

You're My Cup of Tea
Good morning...I have some fun news to share...I have accepted a position on the Flat Friends DT! Of course I didn't hesitate when Emma invited me...I am tickled to work with her adorable images! New challenges are posted on the 1st of the month and you have the month to play along.
This month we have an inspiration challenge; check out the photo:
Isn't she chic? I love the splash of red! I decided it would be fun to paper piece "You're My Cup of Tea"...isn't he adorable peering over the edge of the cup? His head and part of the tea bag are popped up to add dimension. (As I was fussy cutting those tiny hands, I wondered why I thought it was such a good idea?! LOL It was some tricky trimming!) I love the layout from Fusion...it's clean lines work well with the stripes; I've added a handmade felt flower and leaf stick pins for embellishing.

Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Pure Poppy and True Black, Fancy Pants Designs DP
