Hey there!  We have a great, new sketch for you this week at Sketch Saturday; our sponsor for the week is Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  Here is the sketch:

When I made my card for today, I was looking ahead to spring and incorporated The Cat's Pajamas Inspiration Challenge.  The adorable bunny is colored with pencils, his eyes are dotted with a black gel pen, and I've added a touch of yellow glitter to the flowers in his basket.  I had fun mixing the patterned papers with this one!  For embellishing I've added some clouds and a sun...I've put my dies to work.  I also did some subtle distressing.

Image/Sentiment: The Cat's Pajamas
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen

Sketch Saturday

Good Saturday morning!  We have a new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday, along with Simon Says Stamp for a sponsor.  Check out the awesome sketch from Debra:

I love this sketch, it was perfect to showcase my tiny DeNami chick image!  (Love DeNami's adorable chicks!!!)  I made this card for a co-worker who just retired...her favorite color is yellow so this Nurse Chick was the perfect image.  She is colored with pencils...how do you like her red clogs?  She is very trendy!  LOL  I did some simple layering and kept the pattern small so that it didn't overpower the chick; I've embellished simply with some grosgrain ribbon.

Just a word about the retiree....  Mary Ellen put in more than 40 years as a staff nurse...that is simply amazing!  She is awesome and will truly be missed...I better stop, I am getting teary-eyed....  To sum it up...Congratulations Mary Ellen for a job expertly done and Best Wishes for your retirement!

Thank you!

Good morning...happy Wednesday...we are halfway to the weekend!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Debbie has chosen our challenge and it is "Stamping...Rubber or Digital".  Sounds like fun!

I went with a digital image from From the Heart Stamps...yes, a Birdbrain!  Love them!  I added a sentiment and printed the image twice so I could pop up the flower in her hand; the image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I've done a bit of distressing and simply added ribbon for embellishing.  This will be a good one for my stash...you never know when you will need a "thank you"....

For You

Good morning!  It's time for a new sketch from From the Heart Stamps...along with a twist!  This week I chose the twist and it is: 1 Ribbon/2 Patterned Papers/3 Embellishments.

The adorable Birdbrain is colored with pencils and her heart and eyelids (because every chick needs eye shadow!) are accented with glitter. I went with bright, cheery yellow and springy papers to coordinate.  I hate to confess that I had a bit of a struggle doing my own twist!  LOL  Since ribbon was a part of the "recipe" I figured that didn't count, so my 3 embellishments are: glitter (heart and eyelids), crystals, and handmade flower.

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Daffodil Delight, PTI Dark Chocolate, Jillibean Soup
Embellies: Martha Stewart Glitters in "Candy Apple" and "Lemon Drop", Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Smoked Topaz", Handmade Flower (MFT "Blueprints 5" Die-namics Dies/PTI "Pure Poppy" Button, Swarovski Flatback Crystal in "Smoked Topaz")
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape

Here is the sketch we are working with this week:

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here.  Remember, the twist is optional but you must use a From the Heart Stamps image to enter this challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create!

What's Up?

Good morning!  I have a card to share that I made last week...yes, last week!  How does time get away like that?  Doodle Pantry sponsored last Thursday's Creative Knockouts "Furry Friends" challenge; while my card was posted on the D.P. blog, I hadn't posted here yet.

I used an adorable pre-colored image called Jiggles Giraffe; the set includes outlines, pre-colored images, sentiments, and patterned papers.  I paired the image with some paper from my stash; I wanted to highlight the pretty bow, but wanted a bit of yellow too.  (The third time is a charm...that's how many tries it took to get this right!  LOL  I kept picking out color combos, cutting the papers, and then deciding "No, that's not it!")  I printed an extra bow, cut it out, and popped it up for a little extra "oomph"; I added some mesh and brads for embellishing.

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning; it's Humor Me Wednesday at Bugaboo!  Humor Me Holidays for this week are:

1st-April Fool's Day or International Fun at Work Day
3rd-Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day
4th-Walk Around Things Day or National Walk to Work Day
6th-Sorry Charlie Day

I decided to go with "Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day".  As some of you know, I'm a nurse and I work on a Ortho/Neuro unit.  It's really hard, but rewarding work; most of our patient population are elderly and I love working with them...they are really neat people!  Healthcare can be crazy busy though, and sometimes you need just a bit of fun; this Stella image reminded me of a girl I used to work with 20+ years ago.  Connie had an amazing sense of humor and the patient's really loved her; one day she told a joke that I never forgot:

Question: Who invented the hospital gown?
Answer: Dr. Seymore Butt

Alright, I hope I havn't offended anyone with that....  Anyway, this card is for Connie!

Stella is colored with pencils and I've added a touch of subtle glitter to the dots/trim on the gown.  I paired the image with a fun sketch and embellished simply with a sentiment and brads.

Good morning!  I have a card to share using this week's From the Heart Stamps sketch...it's a great one!

I used one of the Birdbrain Chicks (my favorite of Faith's images!); this little cutie is colored with pencils and she has just a touch of glitter on her spotted tummy and eyes (a girl has got to be glam, right?!).  I put my Spellbinder's dies to good use on this card and did a bit of layering.  For embellishing, I've added some twill and Bella Dots.

I'm back with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge; our sponsor for the week is Doodle Pantry.  When I saw this adorable bird and the encouraging sentiment, I knew they would be perfect paired with this sketch and the SCS HYCCT challenge "It's a Cover Up" (hidden message).

The image colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  When I adhered the panel, I just glued around 3 edges so I could insert my hidden message.  The DP is slightly distressed and I've added some buttons and Swarovski flatback crystals for embellishing, along with a twill tab to pull out the hidden message.

In The Garden....

Good morning!  Ruby's Rainbow has a new challenge for this next fortnight; our theme "In The  Garden" was chosen by Shaz.  With zero degree temperatures here at the present, this helps me look forward to spring...I am so ready for it!

As I was looking through my stamps for something to work with, I came across Stella and knew I had to ink her up...I love her quirkiness!  Do you like the smudges of dirt on her face?  She's colored with pencils and I've accented her crown and wand with yellow glitter.  The sketch is from Some Odd Girl; I've done a bit of distressing and added a button/twine for embellishing.

Hey Chickie

I'm back with my second post today!  (Please scroll down for Creative Card Crew post.)  We have another sketch challenge for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches...Jessi designed our sketch this week and I think you'll like it...so many possibilities!

I was trying to come up with a tiny stamp to put in the circles...then I remembered my DeNami chicks...they're perfect!  I colored the cute, tiny chicks with pencils and added a bit of glitter to their bows.  The chick panels are popped up just a bit whereas the sentiment is popped up higher, plus I added some leaves to that flower.  It's pretty simple on one hand, but on the other hand there are a lot of layers.

Image/Sentiment: DeNami

Clear Dollar Stamps July Release

Good morning!  I have a few new sets and samples from Clear Dollar Stamps to share with you today, so let's get to it!

First up is a set called "Veterinary Clinic"; as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to work with it!  I made a scrapbook page featuring our puppy Paisley.  She is 7 weeks in the photo...I can't believe how tiny she looks!  She is close to 4 months old now, and has gotten huge!  I chose a couple of images from the set and paired them with some text.  I added a bit of color with pencils (I used purple to complement the color of her collar) and finished the page with a photo of Paisley.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Veterinary Clinic" Digital Set
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Basic Gray and Elegant Eggplant
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, QuicKutz Hand Tool and Photo Corner Die, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Next I have a couple of cards using a set called "Cherries on Top".  For my first card, I chose a bunch of cherries and paired it with a coordinating sentiment.  The cherries are colored with pencils and diecut with Spellbinder's dies.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Cherries on Top" Digital Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown)
Paper: SU! Pink Passion, PTI Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug DP
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

This card was fun to make because I learned some new tricks!  My daughter downloaded some free software so I can change the color of my images/sentiments, layer the images, etc.  Coming from a very non-technical person like myself, I must say I was elated when I was able to get all of the elements "just right"!  I lined up the cherries, added the cute little smilie face, and added a sentiment.  I was even able to position the  elements so I could just trim the CS, score a foldline and voila'!  I colored one cherry and scored some lines for definition.  I like the CAS look of this one.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Cherries on Top" Digital Set
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal

The last set I'm showing today is called "Ice Cream Sticks".  It has a fun variety of images and sentiments, and I was eager to work with it as I am an ice cream lover!  I used a sketch from Charisma Cardz for my first card.  I paired the image with some fun, summery bright colored DP and colored the ice cream to coordinate.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Ice Cream Sticks" Digital Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown)
Paper: PTI Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate, Jillibean Soup DP
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks: Stripes
Crafting For All Seasons: Ice Cream/Popsicle

I used a sketch from the CAS blog for my next card.  The image is printed on CS and DP, then cut out and popped up.  I added a banner with the sentiment and some Bella Dots.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Ice Cream Sticks" Digital Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown), SU! Marker (Close to Cocoa)
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, American Crafts DP
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I did some more paper piecing with my last card.  I popped the cone up and elevated the sentiment in the middle.  I finished with a couple Bella Dots.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Ice Cream Social" Digital Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown), SU! Marker (Close to Cocoa)
Paper: PTI Kraft, Stamper's Select, Dark Chocolate, and Dotty Biscotti DP
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I am entering this card in Love to Create's 3 of Something challenge.

Well, that's it for today; I hope you will head on over to Clear Dollar Stamps to check out the new goodies!  Thanks for stopping by!
