St. Patrick's Day...With a Pop of Pink

Good morning! It's Freebie Friday at Catch the Bug...today's freebie is the lovely Stella! I must say she looks a bit salty; pretty sure I wouldn't try to pinch her!

I've colored Stella with pencils and accented the shamrocks with glitter. I added some enamel dots for embellishing and then decided they were a "no". Note to self: Do not push so hard, because once they are stuck, they are stuck! So, enamel dots it is! Here's a close-up:

Oldie But Goodie

Good morning!  It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Catch the Bug...this is one of my favorite days since I get to pick from so many of Jodie's awesome images!

I love making Halloween cards, so I narrowed down my image choice to that category...still had a hard time choosing though!  I found a fun sketch, so I went with this square image since it was perfect for the sketch.  Stella is colored with pencils and the stars are accented with glitter.  I've used mesh for one of the panels and added brads for embellishing.

Instant witch...

Good morning!  It's ABC Monday at Catch the Bug; for my "anything but a card" I made a treat container.  I actually had planned to make some treat packaging for my kids, but when I saw this fun image, already printed, and laying on my table I switched my plan.  Gotta love Stella!  And her sass!

The image is colored with pencils and I've accented the green brew, the star, and her purple eyelids with glitter.  I matted the image and adhered it to a basic tag; the sentiment is also a tag and I've tied it all to the container with twine and a button.  The container is covered with patterned paper held in place with a strip of double stick tape; I've filled it with iridescent shred and it's the perfect size for some instant coffee treats.  Voila'!  Cute packaging that's quick and easy!

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo Stella Witch-Instant Witch Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Orange Zest and True Black, Carolee's Creations
Embellies: Divine Twine, PTI Button

Please take a peek at the other DT's ABC creations here.  Remember that Fall/Halloween images are 25% off through October 31st!

Stella Cupid

Good morning!  It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch the Bug...I decided to pull Stella out of the archives.  A little Valentine humor is always good, right?!

Stella is colored with Spectrum markers and accented with glitter.  I went a bit non-traditional with the colors and used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I used some red bling for embellishing.

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo "Stella Love-Stupid Cupid"
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Spring Rain, and True Black, Pinecone Press Patterned Paper
Embellies: Martha Stewart "Crystal Fine" and "Sugar Cube" Glitters, Red Bling

Stella's Whipping up Thanksgiving Dinner

Good morning friends!  We have a fun, new Inspiration Challenge for you at Catch the Bug!  Here is the inspiration photo:

I went with "Stella-Turkey".  As I was coloring the image, I thought how I would love to cook in Stella's kitchen...she has fancy Rachael Ray cookwear!  Don't you love the bright colors?  LOL  Plus, she made mashed sweat potatoes...yum!  The sketch is from Sketch Saturday; I'm too late to enter their challenge, but I loved the sketch.  I've embellished simply with a touch of glitter on Stella's earrings and some brads.  I even decorated the inside too...  This image came with a cheeky sentiment: Warning!  Not for the faint at heart!  LOL  Will have to send this one to someone who will appreciate the humor....

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Valou has chose our challenge and she would like to see "Ladies" on your projects.

Hmmm, when I think of a "lady", I think of a "proper lady" but I don't have a lot of those in my stash....  After checking with my teamies to make sure it was okay, I went with a "sassy lady"...Stella!  I love her!  LOL

Stella is colored with pencils and accented with a bit of glitter.  I used some fun Easter paper from my stash and embellished simply with a sentiment and mini brads.  Sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning; it's Humor Me Wednesday at Bugaboo!  Humor Me Holidays for this week are:

1st-April Fool's Day or International Fun at Work Day
3rd-Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day
4th-Walk Around Things Day or National Walk to Work Day
6th-Sorry Charlie Day

I decided to go with "Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day".  As some of you know, I'm a nurse and I work on a Ortho/Neuro unit.  It's really hard, but rewarding work; most of our patient population are elderly and I love working with them...they are really neat people!  Healthcare can be crazy busy though, and sometimes you need just a bit of fun; this Stella image reminded me of a girl I used to work with 20+ years ago.  Connie had an amazing sense of humor and the patient's really loved her; one day she told a joke that I never forgot:

Question: Who invented the hospital gown?
Answer: Dr. Seymore Butt

Alright, I hope I havn't offended anyone with that....  Anyway, this card is for Connie!

Stella is colored with pencils and I've added a touch of subtle glitter to the dots/trim on the gown.  I paired the image with a fun sketch and embellished simply with a sentiment and brads.

As I was looking through my stamps for something to work with, I came across Stella and knew I had to ink her up...I love her quirkiness!  Do you like the smudges of dirt on her face?  She's colored with pencils and I've accented her crown and wand with yellow glitter.  The sketch is from Some Odd Girl; I've done a bit of distressing and added a button/twine for embellishing.

Red Hat Mama

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew...this fortnight our challenge is to use purple.  Now I don't know about you, but I think of the red hat ladies when I think of purple...that made me think of Bugaboo's Stella!  Isn't she a hoot?

The image is colored with pencils and the frame is accented with glitter.  I kept the card simple with a bit of dry embossing and some Swarovski crystals.  My daughter told me it was missing something and told me to "bling it up".  Sometimes clean and simple is nice for a change of pace....  I'm not so sure what to add or where I would put it...what do you think?  Any suggestions?  I'd love to hear them!
