Birdbrain Balloon

Good morning!  I have a card to share using the newest From the Heart Stamps sketch...#113.  It is a fun sketch for sure, but I had a bit of trouble with the diamond panels...you should see all the "scraps" on my table!  LOL  I think perhaps, somehow, I was making it harder than it should have been....  (I should probably mention that I also spilled the bottle of Goo Gone all over the image as I was coloring it...I had to throw the whole sheet of images away...ugh!)  Here's the sketch:

I choose the adorable "Birdbrain Balloon"...I love coloring the Birdbrains!  (As I was coloring today, I realized I have a "thing" for chicks, chickens, etc.)  Of course I had to add a bit of glittery eye shadow...just because I can't resist!  I wanted the diamond panels to be subtle, so I used vellum and adhered it with mini brads.  I like how this one turned out!

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Melon Mambo, PTI Dark Chocolate, Bella Blvd. Patterned Paper, The Paper Studio Vellum
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Martha Stewart "Lemon Drop" Glitter

Superchick

Good morning!  We have a great new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday; here it is:

I pulled out one of my favorite Calendar Chicks and colored her with pencils, then accented her cape with glitter.  The patterned paper has been in my stash for years, but I love the colors.  I've added some felt and glitter accents along with alphabet beads for the sentiment.  I think I will give this one to my daughter.

At the Seaside

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you from Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Shaz has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "At the Seaside".  Great challenge!

I pulled out an adorable DeNami chick to use, along with a new 12x12 paper pack that included some stickers.  I don't really used stickers...I don't really know what to do with them....  I did decide to give them a try with this card though; the red rimmed circle and the stars worked rather well and I accented them with some Swarovski flatbacks.  Here's a close-up:

Ink: Memenot Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and Aqua Mist

Birthdays and Boogers

Good morning and happy Monday...it's ABC day at Catch the Bug!

Not too long ago I was browsing around Hobby Lobby and found these cool gable boxes...they were $4.99 for 10!  I picked them up on sale for 1/2 price, so they were only 25 cents a box!  I love getting deals like that!  I stocked up so I could have some quick, fun, and easy packaging on hand....they came in white, kraft and assorted colors/patterns.  I colored the image with pencils, added some coordinating ribbon and that's it...fill with some colored paper shred and your gift...easy peasy!  I have a few friends who may get a kick out of Gertrude...I love the cheeky sentiment!

There were really cute images to choose from, but I am partial to kitties!  (Plus, the sentiment reflects just about everything I say to my 16 year-old daughter!  LOL)  The image is colored with pencils, I've done a bit of layering, and embellished with a single button.

Hello

Good morning!  I have a card to share featuring both the current From the Heart Stamps sketch and newest critter...Prickles!  This image is the June Stamp of the Month.

How to color a hedgehog?  I decided to Google pictures of one and discovered that the tips of their "prickles" are white.  I did try to do that...without much luck....  I don't feel I did this adorable critter justice!  I will keep trying!  I used some bright and cheery papers, from my stash, matted with black to make them pop; for embellishing I've used a single button.

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Prickles Says Hello" Digital Image
Ink: Printer, Black Pen
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! YoYo Yellow, PTI True Black, American Crafts Patterned Paper
Embellies: PTI Button, DMC Floss
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities

Go Lions!

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Vickie has chosen our challenge and she would like to see your "Favorite Sport Theme".  Great challenge!

My favorite sport is cheer...yes, competition cheer is a sport!  My favorite kind of cheer, though, is wrestling; I never thought I would enjoy it but I truly do.  This will be my daughter's 3rd year on the wrestling squad; it's fun getting to know the wrestlers and cheering them on...these are the same boys I have known since they were in Kindergarten!

I have pulled a fun Changito stamp from my stash and turned her into "Changitette" by adding a bit of bling to her hair.  She is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I went with the "number" patterned paper because it is all about the numbers in wrestling!  I've done some simple layering and added Swarovski flatback crystals for embellishing.  I will save this one and give it to Ivy this fall when wrestling starts.
