Catch the Bug...Oldie But Goodie

Good morning! It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Catch the Bug; I'm going with Margaret because she makes me laugh. Plus, I think we have all felt this way at one time or another!

I've colored the image with pencils and did some simple layering: I didn't want to cover up this fun patterned paper...it is perfect for this image! I've embellished simply with a banner and heart. Here's a close-up:

Stella Says Sketch

Good morning! It's Stella Says Sketch Sunday at Catch the Bug and I have a card to share using the July sketch. It's a great sketch and you have all month to play along so I hope you'll give it a try!

I went with one of my favorite "Margaret" images...I just love how she oozes sass! And her style too.... I've colored her with pencils; how do you like her yellow polka dotted swim skirt? She's ready for the beach with zinc oxide on her nose and sunscreen in her bag! Patterned papers are from Echo Park and the stitched die cuts are from Lil' Inker Designs.

***Funny story about the die cuts.... The first floor of my house is being remodeled, so that means every room except the kitchen (already done) and bathroom are basically not livable. My studio on the second floor is being used for storage right now and I couldn't find my sun die amongst the mess! I do have a sun punch, but I wanted the "stitched" look and was accepting no substitutes! I frantically searched here and there...multiple times...and finally found a baggie of extra die cuts. Score! There was a sun inside, not the size I wanted though, so I layered it on a circle...not exactly the look I was going for, but it was a "make it work" moment!

Here's the sketch:

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here, they are sure to inspire you! Also, here is a link to the store...Jodie has had some great new images lately, can't wait to see what she comes up with this month!

Celebrate

Good morning!  It's the first Saturday of the month so that means it's "Anything Goes" at Catch the Bug! Could it get any easier than anything goes?  I love the freedom!

Speaking of freedom, I couldn't resist Margaret in her patriotic finery!  She's colored with pencils and I've accented her star accessories with glitter, along with adding Glossy Accents to her glasses.  I found a fun sketch and layered the circle under the center panel instead of putting it on top.  The sentiment is die cut three times and layered.

Sketch Saturday #386

Good morning Sketch Saturday fans!  We have a new sketch for you, along with a new sponsor...Bugaboo!  One of my favorites for sure!  Check out this week's sketch:

I went with Margaret...I love that she is rather cheeky!  She's colored with pencils and I've paired her with my favorite "Get Well" papers (sadly, after this card I am down to scraps only...I'll have to get creative to use them!).  I've done some simple layering and added a sentiment.  Now I'm wondering if my sentiment is too bold?  Maybe I should have printed it on the blue and used a small red border...what do you think?  Maybe I'll add some red brads in the opposite corner....  Speaking of brads, does anyone besides me like them?  I rarely see them used anymore.

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Blueberry Sky and Pure Poppy, Frances Meyer Patterned Paper
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the Saturday Girls creations here, along with the challenge details.  Play along for the chance to win some Bugaboo images!

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning!  It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug; Humor Me holidays for this week are:

9th: Chaos Never Dies Day
12th: Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
13th: World Kindness Day
14th: Operating Room Nurse Day
15th: Clean Your Refrigerator Day

Since I'm a nurse, I was compelled to go with "Operating Room Nurse Day".  Nurse Margaret is ready to obtain that pre-op blood sample; quick, run the other way!  LOL

I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday...love their sketches!  Margaret is colored with pencils; I've embellished with a die cut band-aide and some Bella Dots.  Not so sure what I think of my color combo here...I used SU!'s retired Blush Blossom thinking that it looked like the color of a band-aid, but now that the card is done it looks more pink-ish.  Hmmm, I guess I will send this one to a female....

Hot Hot Hot

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Caz has chosen our challenge and it is "On the Beach".  Sounds fun!

I figured I couldn't go wrong with Bugaboo's Margaret!  She's colored with pencils and her (not so) teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini is embellished with glitter, along with her glasses.  The layout is the Deconstructed Sketch and I've used vellum clouds, a sparkly sun, and beads for embellishing.  I only hope I look this "Hot Hot Hot" (or as my 15 year old daughter would say "Hawt") when I hit the local beach!  LOL

Morning Margaret

Or should I say Crabby Margaret?  LOL  I made this one, just for fun, after I saw a few challenges I wanted to play along with.  Margaret is colored with pencils; the darker parts of her dress and her slippers are accented with a subtle glitter, but I was unable to capture that in the photo.  The black banner is embossed with a "clock" pattern.

Image/Sentiment: Bugaboo Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Berry Sorbet and True Black, Little Yellow Bicycle DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Recollections Brads (mini), Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter

I used last week's Sketch Saturday sketch, but posted too late.  It was a great sketch and I see my friend Linda was the winner...how cool is that?!

Nurse Margaret: Do I look like I'm joking?

Good morning!  I have a silly card to share with you today, featuring Bugaboo's Margaret...I love her, she cracks me up!  I'm not meaning to be offensive here, but...as a nurse, I can appreciate the humor.  Some of the patients get such funny cards; they love to show the staff.  I made this card for a friend's husband who just had surgery; he works in healthcare, so hopefully it will make him chuckle....

The image is colored with pencils, and I used one of my favorite "go to" layouts.  I used some themed paper from my stash and added some red brads for embellishing.

Happy 4th...from Margaret!

Good morning!  I was the lucky winner of the Bugaboo sketch challenge and my prize was 10 digital stamps...woo hoo!  Oh my gosh, I had so much fun picking them out!  I love Margaret, and Stella, and Gus....  I just had to work with one of them right away.  Since the 4th is right around the corner, I went with Margaret Calendar Month July.  Is she a hot tamale or what?  I'm loving her lipstick!

Margaret is colored with pencils and all of the white stars have some sparkly glitter...nice and festive!  I used some Doodlebug DP that I have had in my stash for years, added some ribbon and twine, along with another glittery star and a button.  The sketch is from Seems a Little Sketchy; I thought it was perfect for Margaret!
