I went with a digital image from From the Heart Stamps...yes, a Birdbrain!  Love them!  I added a sentiment and printed the image twice so I could pop up the flower in her hand; the image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I've done a bit of distressing and simply added ribbon for embellishing.  This will be a good one for my stash...you never know when you will need a "thank you"....

Thank You TREEmendously

Good Wednesday morning!  I have a card to share for our fortnightly challenge at Ruby's Rainbow; my teamie Lesley has chosen trees as our theme.  I thought of this new Clear Dollar Stamps set from Lisa Lara called Apple Licious; it really has some fun images and coordinating sentiments...you can check it out here.

I simply sized and printed my image and sentiment, then matted it with chocolate CS and adhered the sentiment with 2 chocolate mini brads.  I placed a dimensional behind the middle of the sentiment to give it a bit of interest.

With back-to-school less than a week away, I thought that it would be a fun theme to go with.  Changito is stamped on graph paper and CS, then colored, cut out, and adhered to the graph paper.  I embellished simply with ribbon and brads.

A BIG Thanks

Good Monday morning!  Today I have a fun card to share with you...I was looking through the SCS tutorials for something interactive and I chose the Surprise Pop Up Card.  I also found a lot of other tutorials that looked interesting...so many fun things to try...so little time!

I am using Clear Dollar Stamps Gigi Giraffe, who also come with 3 coordinating DPs.  I printed my elements, then followed the simple instructions in the tutorial.  I added a bit of ribbon, buttons and a felt flower for embellishing.

This is what the card looks like when you pull the tag up at the top...there's a hidden message!  How fun is that?

2) just an image on the front of your card ) no sentiment) OR...
3) make an action card (make it move)

Changito Thank U

Hello! How's your Friday going so far? It's great that the weekend is almost here! Today I have some cards to share that my daughter requested for her track coaches and manager. Quite frankly, I was surprised considering she always acts like I am a bit "off" because I enjoy stamping so much! LOL Anyway, I sent her to my card rack to pick out a sample card for me to work with. We decided to make a different color for each person. The colors are from the color family SU! used to call "Bold Brights" and I used to work with these colors a lot...funny how our styles change over the years. I do think the bright colors look pretty all lined up.

Here's a close-up of the pink card (my favorite color). The green panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, Changito is colored with pencils and the flower is accented with Doodlebug glitter.

Image: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Passion Pink, Yo Yo Yellow, and Only Orange, PTI Dark Chocolate
Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Crayolas/Goo Gone, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Ivy took the finished cards to school, had the other girls on the team sign them, then presented them in clear envelopes at their end of the season pizza party.

Here is a picture of Ivy from this season. It's a bit fuzzy, since I took a picture of a photo. The girls had a fun season; it was their first, so they were practicing with the different events to find their niche. We were surprised to have Ivy switch to the high jump; we always thought she would stick with the long jump. My husband was a great long jumper and Ivy had previously won a gold medal in the long jump at an independent meet. Whatever she decides to do is okay with us; we just encourage her to do her best and have fun doing it!

Thanks for stopping by today!

"Heartfelt Thanks"

Good morning! Today I have a card that I CASE'd from a PaperCrafts Card Creations magazine. I loved how bright and cheery it was, and just knew I wanted to make some for my stash. The colors...the fun buttons...it just made me happy!
The card was pretty simple to make; it probably took the longest to select the buttons and to "thread" the holes. It's so fun to search my button stash; I thought the avocado one with 6 holes was pretty unique!
Image: PTI "All About You Additions"
Sentiment: PTI "Everyday Classics"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Old Olive
Embellies: PTI Ripe Avocado Ribbon, PTI Buttons
Extras: Prismacolor Pencil/Goo Gone, DMC Floss, "Corner Chomper", Glue Dots
It's time to get moving here; the kids are part of the church service this morning and then we are going out for birthday brunch.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

CAS CASE

Good morning! How has your week been going? Mine is going too fast, considering I am on duty for the weekend!
I came across this card on SCS the other day and just had to CASE it. I don't often sponge or use the corner rounder, so this one was a bit different than the usual layered cards that I make. One thing I did note, was that sponging doesn't go quickly for me; since I made 6 of these, I took my supplies to the den and worked on it when I was watching t.v. I love it when I can multi-task! I ended up adding a button to my card, as it just didn't look finished without it.
Sentiment: SU! Sincere Salutations
Ink: SU! Ruby Red and Soft Suede
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Regal Rose, Bo Bunny DP. Basic Grey DP
Embellies: PTI Wood Button, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Pink Smoothie"
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities Dies, SU! Corner Rounder, DMC Floss
That's all for today; thanks for stopping by!

CAS Lady Bug Thank You

Hello! A lot of you probably know I am a huge Changito fan...also Calendar Chicks and Fluffles. You can imagine my excitement when I found out Stampendous has a blog with challenges! I made a copy of the sketch, which was a bit of a challenge since it was a square. I had a plan, but when I found these lady bug buttons, I decided I had better go with my "Lady Bug Fluffles" stamp!
This card is super clean and simple. It's 4 1/4" square; I did try to stay true to the sketch, but I left off the brads in the corners of the image panel. I thought they would be too much with the buttons.... The image is colored with pencils; Fluffles does have a bit of gray shading, too.
Image: Stampendous
Sentiment: SU!
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Pure Black, SU! Real Red
Embellie: Favorite Findings Buttons, SU! Black Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: Crayolas/Prismas/Goo Gone, SU! 1" Round Punch
This is a pretty cool sketch; I'll probably be using it again. I wish square cards didn't cost more to mail, though....
Thanks for stopping by!

CASE from SCS

Hello and happy Monday! Today I have a card that I CASE'd from the SCS gallery. I just fell in love with the simplicity of the card when I saw it; I knew I had to try and replicate it. I thought it was really classy and that it was easily adaptable to any occasion. I did tweak the card by changing the definition used, and I also used a different color of crystals for embellishment.

The definition was stamped on vellum. To avoid the appearance of glue behind the vellum, I left the edges a bit long and folded them over the white panel and adhered them into place before adhering it to the black panel. After adhering the black panel to the card, I placed a small amount of glue on the heart before sliding it into place. The crystals are Swarovski flatbacks in "Rose". I really love these; the have such a rich sparkle. I adhere them with either SU! Crystal Effects or Mono Multi (green lid). I know a lot of people prefer the crystals that come with sticky on them; what do you prefer?

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, True Black, and Hibiscus Burst, The Paper Studio Vellum
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Rose"
Extras: Spellbinders Nestabilities

I'm glad you stopped by today! I hope your day is a good one!
