Chocolate....

Good morning!  It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch the Bug...yay, a chance to play with the oldies!  I made a baby girl themed card not too long ago, but my friend is having a boy instead of a girl...so back to the drawing board!

JJ is colored with pencils and I've used the sketch from My Time to Craft.  I thought it was a really fun one, although I converted it to an A3 to accommodate the image.  I've embellished with some stars; there are quite a few stars in the alphabet patterned paper, but I can only see two of them.  Don't you love it when that happens?!  Here's a close-up:

Baby made me eat it!

Good morning!  It's our "Anything Goes" challenge at Catch the Bug!  Since we are in the midst of a baby boom at work, I thought I would make a baby card.  So far the boys are outnumbering the girls!  Another one of my friends just announced her pregnancy and she is hoping for girl...this card is for her!

I found a fun sketch to work with and worked some other challenges in as well.  The image is colored with pencils and I've embellished with ribbon and buttons (I like using buttons for baby cards!)...I hope Kelly likes it!  I plan to bring cupcakes to work and give it to her then...it's fun to celebrate the mamas and their babies!

Ruby's Rainbow ABC

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Valou has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Anything But a Card".  Sounds like a good challenge!

I made a box to present a custom Baptism card that I made for a friend.  The box is very simple to make with the help of the Scor-Pal; the bottom is lined with white felt and the top is decorated with an embossed panel and a felt rose to coordinate with the card.  For the card, I've used white/cream...embossed CS, textured vellum, die cut onesie with glitter trim, ribbon, a felt flower, pearls and stickpins.  (The recipient loved it!)  Here's a close-up of the card:

Sentiment: Computer Generated (printed in gray)
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Spare Parts Pearls, Maya Road Stickpins, Grosgrain Ribbon (my stash), Flower (MFT Royal Rose Die-namics Die/PTI Felt), Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Extras: Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, White Felt (to line bottom of box), Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here, along with the challenge details.  We hope you will play along...I'd love to see your ABC project!

Challenges entered:

As You Like It: Favorite Anything But a Card
(Why?  An ABC challenge is always a bit hard for me; I always think "What should I make?"  My standby is gift packaging because it is inexpensive and really elevates the presentation of  the card or gift...even something simple can look extra special!)
Card and Scrap: Bling, Glitter, or Pearls (I used glitter and pearls.)

JJ is colored with pencils (I love the "pop" of blue with all the pink/brown!) and I've embellished with some punched/layered flowers with pearls and some twill.  I like how this one turned out...I love the patterned paper.

I Can Grow People....

Good morning!  Welcome to Bugaboo's Surprise Baby Hop in honor of our teamie, Min, who is soon to become a mother!  If you have arrived here from Catch the Bug, you are on the right path...if not, you may want to start there.

Here's my card for the hop.  Instead of the traditional baby card, I thought that by this time in Min's pregnancy she could use a little laugh.  That's where JJ fits in...I love her sass!

JJ is colored with pencils and layered with die cuts.  I've used Bella Dots for embellishing, along with an arrow to highlight her "bump".  I love the sassy sentiment!  LOL

Image: Bugaboo "JJ Pregnancy-Grow People" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Lavendar Moon and Dark Chocolate, Bella BLVD Patterned Paper
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, MFT Die-namics (arrow), Foam Tape

I would like to wish Min and Glenn the very best with the arrival of their bundle of joy!   Children are an amazing blessing and they grow up way too fast.  (I can't believe my own are 14 and 15 already!  How did that happen?)  My advice for them is to treasure your little girl and to enjoy each new phase and experience along the way...live, love, and laugh!

Your next stop is Becky...I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what she has created for Min!

Happy New Baby

Good Morning!  It's Tuesday so that means we have a new sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches...here it is:

There is also a twist this week and that it is: blue, green, and black.  Hmmm, as I looked through my papers I came across these two striped patterns...they were on the flip side of some baby patterns, so I decided to go with a baby theme.  I stamped and fussy cut the onesie before adding a touch of glitter, added some banners, and finished with brads.  I like the clean lines of this one.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Doodlebug Patterned Paper
Embellies: Martha Stewart Glitter in "Limeade", Spare Parts Brads

Baby Shoes

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Valou has chosen our challenge and she would like to see pink and blue.  Of course that immediately made me think of baby cards, so I made 2 cards using a fun set from Doodle Pantry called Baby Shoes.  I printed the images, die cut them, and added some fun banners.  I like how the zebra print puts a fun spin on the cute, old fashioned baby shoes.  The sketch I've used is from Sunday Stamps.

Clearly Digi Stamps August Release

Hello!  It's the 15th of the month, so that means it's release time for Clearly Digi Stamps!  There are a bunch of great new sets and I have samples to share using 2 of them: New Pastures, and Chalk Talk.

I love making baby cards, so I knew right away I wanted to work with New Pastures...the little lamb is adorable!  I am working with a pre-colored image from the set, plus a sentiment and digi paper.  This set made it super easy to put together a cute, coordinated card in a snap; I simply printed the elements, did a bit of layering and added some Bella Dots for embellishment!

Image/Sentiment: New Pastures
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Smokey Shadow
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Next I've used another fun set called Chalk Talk...it is perfect for back to school!  I made a band to go around a new planner for my daughter.  I simply layered the pre-colored image and sentiment before printing and added some brads for embellishment.  For the card, I again layered elements from the set before printing and fussy cutting them.  I added some distressed  DP, die cuts, and Bella Dots.  What about your kids?  Do they think "School rules!"?  I think I'm pretty lucky because both of mine do, especially my oldest; she is eager to go back to school next week!

Image/Sentiment: Chalk Talk
Ink: Printer, Sakura Black Gel Pen, SU! Black Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Scrappin' Sports & More! DP, Little Yellow Bicycle DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Bella Dots
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will head on over to Clearly Digi Stamps to check out the rest of the new release, and to get a bit of inspiration from the DT!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baptism Blessings

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a co-worker; she had a grandson who was getting baptized and she pretty much left the design up to me.  How fun is that?  She did want to have Jacob's name on the card and liked the colors cream, blue, and green.

I was at Hobby Lobby and saw this pretty paper...it was even 1/2 price...lucky find!  I used the MFT onesie die and added some subtle glitter around the neckline, arms, and legs, then added some pearls.  I embellished with a handmade felt flower, stickpins, and a smattering of pearls.  I've used a bunch of dies on this one: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, multiple MFT Die-namic dies, and also the Corner Chomper...I think the rounded corners are a nice touch.  I didn't have cream envelopes large enough, so I made a box instead.  I used my Scor-Pal, lined it with Warm and Natural batting, and decorated the top to coordinate with the card.

Here's a close up of the card:

Here is a shot of the inside.

Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU! Marina Mist, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos
Embellies: Making Memories Stick Pens, Spare Parts Pearls, Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter

CAS Baby

Good morning!  We have a new challenge, for this fortnight, from the Creative Card Crew.  We would like to see lots of pink or blue, or a baby card...yay, I love both!

This card started out pink, but I ended up switching to a white card base...I think I like it better.  The onesie is paper pieced, the trim colored with a pencil, and accented with glitter.  I've done very minimal embellishing...a simple button with a Swarovski flatback (it's a bit hard to see...it's pink) on top.

Image/Sentiment: PTI Bitty Baby Blessings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Black Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug DP
