It's Tuesday...Time for a Sketch!

Good morning!  It's time for another sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches; our sponsor this week is Clear Dollar Stamps and I am working with a set from the July release called Scripture Children.  It has beautiful silhouettes and sentiments.  Below is the sketch we will be working with; it has lots of possibilities....

I started by flipping my image and printing it on DP.  Next I cut my layers and did a bit of distressing before assembly.  I used some black brads to embellish.  I used a sentiment on the inside; it reads "Water a child with the Word and they will grow."

On the Beach/Under the Sea

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another fun challenge from Creative Card Crew; this fortnight out challenge is "On the Beach/Under the Sea" and our sponsor is Michelle Perkett.  I am using the lovely "Camille"...thank you Michelle!

After printing the image, I started coloring...colored some more...and some more!  I was thinking that this image was a bit too ambitious for me...I really wish I had that natural coloring ability that some people are lucky to have.  I kept on coloring and finally finished...yay!  I used the sketch from Stampin With the Dragon; I used my corner rounder, did some piercing, added ribbon and gems, and applied a bit of glitter to the pink trim.

Yippee!

Good morning; I hope your weekend is going great!

I see I now have 100 followers...my gosh, I never thought that would happen!  A heartfelt "thank you" to all who come to visit; it means so much to me that you stop by from time to time.  I want to share something funny with you on this topic....  My husband was telling someone about my blog, and he was telling them I actually have "followers and believers"....  Yes, that is really how he worded it!  Of course, they looked at him like we were both a bit goofy and involved in a cult or something!  LOL  I guess in his own way, even though he gives me a lot of grief about my hobby, he might be just a little bit proud of me too....  It was kind of sweet actually!

So, I am curious...does your significant other support your creative endeavors?  I would love to hear your story....

Next weekend, I will post a give away on my blog; not sure what it will be yet...maybe a fun cardkit since I love to make those...I'm still in the planning phases.  Stay tuned!

Have a great Sunday!

Scoops

Good morning!  Any ice cream lovers out there?  I've seen a few "ice cream" challenges lately and couldn't resist playing along!  I've got a yummy card to share using one of the new July releases from Clear Dollar Stamps..."Scoops" illustrated by Lisa Lara.  This set has adorable images and sentiments...you can check it out here.

When I saw the image with 3 scoops, I automatically thought of Neopolitan and the rest quickly came together.  I used thin strips of Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS and topped it with the image.  Clean and simple...and sparkly!  I love sparkle!

Dear Santa, define good...

Good Monday morning!  I thought I'd jump on the "Christmas in July" bandwagon since I have seen so many of those challenges out there.  It's kind of fun to make a Christmas card in the heat of the summer!

I went with Bugaboo's Stella and combined her with some bright and cheery Doodlebug papers.  I added some ribbon and sparkly brads for embellishing.  The sentiment that accompanies this stamp says "Dear Santa, define good..."

Far Out

Good Friday Morning!  Yay, the weekend is almost here!

I've got a card today using one of the cute MFT a' la modes...love them...they are fun to color!  I saw this DP at Hobby Lobby and bought a piece of it...I was thinking this stamp would be perfect for it.  I bet some of you are thinking "Why on earth did she use a purple card base?"  Well...there is purple in the DP...really, there is!  LOL  You know, I really hate it when you cover up the part that you want to show!  Does this happen to anybody else?  If you look really closely, there is a bit of purple by the "Far Out" sentiment...the rest is covered up....

The image is colored with pencils and the peace sign has a coating of black glitter.  I embellished simply with some paper piercing and brads.

Image/Sentiment: MFT
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, SU! Wisteria Wonder, The Paper Studio DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, MFT Die-namics (tab), The Paper Studio Sticky Doos
