Sending Sunshine Your Way!

Good morning!  I just had to play along with the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge this week, and I combined it with a few other challenges as well...summer, die cuts, etc.

The image is colored with pencils and her eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I've used a lot of dies on this card, both to cut/mount my image/sentiment and for embellishing.  I've also used a touch of ribbon and some gems for a bit of sparkle.

Image/Sentiment: The Craft's Meow
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Harvest Gold, KI Memories DP
Embellies: PTI Harvest Gold Grosgrain Ribbon, MAMBI Bling
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Corner Chomper, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, Lil' Inker Sun/Cloud Dies, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments: Summer
Catered Crop: Die Cuts and Punches
Clear It Out: Theme: Make Someone's Day, Stash: Something Sparkly
Jellypark Friends: Celebrate Summer

Creative Card Crew: Mother

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the girls at Creative Card Crew; this fortnight the challenge is to use a sentiment as the main image.  This was indeed a challenge for me since I don't often use sentiments!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp.

I've been seeing a lot of challenges for Mother's Day, so I went with that theme; after all, it will be here before we know it.  The sketch from The Craft's Meow looked like fun, so I went hunting for some subtle DP to use.  I decided on this lovely paper from my stamping buddy Jessica...I love the vintage flair!  I stamped the sentiment on vellum so the paper could peek through, added a die cut border, a felt rolled rose and some Swarovski flatback crystals.  My original plan was to use a butterfly as the embellishment, but all of mine seemed either too big or too small.  What do you think of the rose?

Sentiment: The Craft's Meow
Paper: PTI Aqua Mist and Dark Chocolate, Prima DP, The Paper Studio Vellum
Ink: Palette Burnt Umber
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Light Colorado Topaz"
Extras: MFT Rolled Rose Die-namics Die/PTI Dark Chocolate Felt, The Cat's Pajamas CutUps Die (leaf)/Green Felt, PTI Border Die

Please head on over to the Creative Card Crew blog to get a bit of inspiration; we'd love to see your take on the challenge too...remember there's a prize up for grabs!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps Challenge: Mother's Day
Dream Valley Challenges: For a Special Lady
Paper Sundaes: Mother's Day
Sentimental Sundays: For a Special Woman
