Freebie Friday

Good morning!  It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo...that's right, you can pick up this adorable image for free!  I love the expressions on the kids' faces...enjoying life's simple pleasures.

I went clean and simple with today's card...letting the image take center stage.  The image panel is colored with pencils, layered onto a Kraft base, and embellished simply with a die cut sun and clouds and matte enamel dots.

Ladybug Flower Row

Good morning...it's New Release Tuesday at Catch the Bug and I've got a card to share using one of Jodie's new images...Ladybug Flower Row.  The DT have some great cards, made with this image, to inspire you...you can check them out here.

I've used pencils to color my image and kept the rest of the layout/color scheme simple so that the image will really shine.  I've done a bit of layering and dry embossing...and no embellishments!  I didn't think I needed any....

For You

Good morning!  Catch the Bug has a new Recipe Challenge for this week...Kraft, Embossing, Pop of Color.  Sounds fun, right?!

I thought of Mini Set-Boy Heart right away...I thought it would be fun to color only the heart.  The image and sentiment are printed on Kraft; the heart is colored with a pencil and coated with glitter.  The background panel is embossed with hearts, and I've carried out the "Pop of Color" with layering and the button.

No Designer Paper!

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you from Creative Card Crew...for this fortnight we would like to see a card without designer paper.

I don't know about you, but what comes to my mind is a clean and simple card.  I thought I'd go with red/white/blue since the 4th is just around the corner...then I decided to try coloring on Kraft...just for something different!  I've added some glitter to the chick's hatband and sparkler, along with some nice and sparkly glitter CS.  I played around with some sparkly star die cuts, but decided to just leave it super simple.

Image: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Kraft, Doodlebug Glitter CS
Embellie: Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's creations...I would also love to see your DP-free creations!

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations: Fur or Feathers
Card Mania Challenges: Kraft Paper
Cupcake Craft: Not for Flowers (CAS, no flowers)

Shabby Birds

Hello; hope your weekend is going well!  Why do they always pass so quickly?  I took a bit of time of work on this month's SFYTT...I'm usually finishing under the radar, so I am glad to get this one completed less than halfway through the month.

The image I used is from Clearly Digi Stamps digital set, Tweet Houses, drawn by Lisa Lara.  The different images and sentiments are adorable!  I combined an image and sentiment before printing with dark brown ink, then printed an extra birdhouse on kraft paper so I could trim and layer the images.  I added a bit of glitter to the top of the bird house, distressed the edges of the panels and added some brads for embellishing.

Image/Sentiment: Clearly Digi Stamps "Tweet Houses" Digi Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown), SU! Close to Cocoa Marker
Paper: PTI Kraft, Vintage Cream, and New Leaf, Echo Park DP
Embellies: Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Heidi Swapp Brads
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Can You Digi It: Bird is the Word
Clearly Inspired: Things With Wings
Crafts and Me: Use a Digi
SFYTT: Sketch
That Craft Place: Things with Wings

Thanks for stopping by!

TMS#150

Good morning Tuesday Morning Sketches fans!  Today I have another fun sketch to share.  Our sponsor this week is Designed2Delight and it is a judged challenge...which means there is a twist...kraft and black plus 1 color....  Sounds challenging, right?!

I will admit that I am not so good with color challenges!  This was a toughie for me, but then I remembered this wonderful DP that I had in my stash....  I could use pink (my favorite), stamp on the kraft, and add just a touch of black.  Whew; I felt such relief when I finally had a plan!  I also don't often use sentiments, so this was "out of the box" for me!

I simply stamped my sentiment, used a lot of diecuts, made some felt flowers, and added some crystals.  Voila'!  I like how this one turned out!

Sentiment: PTI Think Big Favorites 1
Ink: PTI Raspberry Fizz
Paper: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Kraft, and True Black, PTI Dotty Biscotti DP
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Jet"
Extras: Spellbinders Nestabilities, MFT Rolled Rose Die-namics Dies, PTI Raspberry Fizz Felt, Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will head over here to check out the rest of the DT's creations.  After that, I'd like to see what you come up with using the sketch and twist!

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe's Crafts: Girls, Girls, Girls
Cheery Lynn Designs: Roses
Crafty Ann's: It's a Girl Thing
Crafty Calendar: Flowers in Bloom (plus the option of swirls)
Fussy and Fancy: Swirls and Flourishes

Creative Card Crew: Kraft

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the Creative Card Crew; our sponsor for this fortnight is Simon Says Stamp and the challenge is to use Kraft.

I don't know about you, but I have been enjoying the spring flowers I've been seeing around town so I decided to combine flowers, my favorite color (pink!) and Kraft.  My card is pretty clean and simple, but it did take quit a while to thread all those buttons!  How about you?  Do you like your buttons threaded or unthreaded?  Just curious!  For the sentiment, "friend" is stamped with Versamark and "one-of-a-kind" is stamped on top with Raspberry Fizz.

Stamps/Sentiment: PTI
Paper: PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate, and Raspberry Fizz
Ink: Palette Burnt Umber, PTI Raspberry Fizz
Embellies: PTI Buttons
Extras: DMC Floss, Dimensionals

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft: Spring is in the Air
House of Gilli: Flowers
Make it Monday with Kraft Outlet: April Showers Bring May Flowers
Totally Stampalicious: Celebrating Friendship

I hope you will hope on over to the Creative Card Crew to see what the rest of the girls have whipped up to inspire you.  I also hope you will play along; I'd love to see how you use Kraft!

Thanks for stopping by!
