Ruby's Rainbow Challenge: Things with Wings

Good morning!  It's time for another fun challenge from Ruby's Rainbow; Lesley has chosen "things with wings".  How fun is that?!  Wings made me think of the Stampendous Calendar Chicks....  Love them!  They were probably the first stamps that I "collected"...I'm always excited to bring them out and ink them up!  When I looked through the challenges, I found a fun sketch and decided to combine it with some distressing and go for a shabby chic look.

The image is colored with pencils and the hats are accented with a bit of subtle glitter (shoot...can't see it in the picture).  I distressed my DP and embellished my card with twill, a felt rose/leaves and some Swarovski flatbacks.

Image: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo, Simple Stories DP
Embellies: PTI Dark Chocolate Twill, Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Topaz" and "Smoked Topaz", Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Felt, MFT Die-namics Rolled Rose Die and Upsy Daisy Die (leaves), The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I hope you will head on over and check out the DT's "things with wings"...I'd love to see your take too!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

City Crafter: A Rose is a Rose
Creative Craft Challenges2: Distressing
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT: Something with Wings
Oldie But Goodie: Things with Wings (used a stamp that I've had in my collection for years...still love it, though!)
Party Time Tuesday: Vintage or Shabby Chic
Tip Top Tuesday: Dig Out the Old (used a stamp that I've had in my collection for years...still love it, though!)
Skipping Stones Designs: Sketch

Thanks for stopping by!

Angela

Hi Angela :)

I'm so happy you joined us at Top Tip Tuesday for our challenge! After staring at your card for the longest time, I have to say that I really, really like the white centered image atop the beautiful background DP's. That really pops the adorable image with all those hats! Beautiful card and love that flower.

hugs,
Lisa xx
