Nursing is a work of the heart.

Good morning! I have a card to share using the adorable "Little Nurse Kathy"...I just love this image! She's colored with pencils and I've added a sentiment especially for my friend who is leaving the unit to take a new job. She has one of the biggest hearts ever, so this sentiment was perfect! She will be missed!

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, SU! Pink Pirouette and Real Red CS
Embellies: Spare Parts Mini Brads
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Gina Marie Designs Dies, Foam Tape

I really think the detail of the die adds a lot to a clean and simple card; here's a close up:

Please check out the rest of the DT's creations here. There is still time to play along with this week's sketch; see the details here...we would love to see your interpretation!

FTHS August Blog Hop

Good morning; it's time for From the Heart Stamps August Blog Hop!  Our theme is "Use Your Stash"; sounds fun, right?!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry.  One random commentor will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS Store.  Plus, one lucky commentor on the FTHS Blog has a chance to win a $15 voucher!

If you have arrived from From the Heart Stamps you are in the right place, if not why don't you start there so that you don't miss anything?

I've used Party Hat Birdbrain; she's colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  Don't you just love the look on her face?  She's a hoot!  I've done some simple layering and embellished with a twine/button combo.

Old Stash: Twine, Buttons
New Stash: Doodlebug Paper, Gina Marie Designs Die (I love how the x's coordinate with the twine/button.)

Don't Worry Be Hippie!

Good morning!  I have a card to share using one of Faith's newer Birdbrains...isn't she groovy?  I've used one of my favorite color palettes...yellow and pink with a bit of blue, green, and orange added to coordinate with the patterned paper.  The image is colored with pencils and I've added some glitter "shadow" to her eyelids.  The sketch is an old one from Paper Craft Crew; I've done some simple layering and added buttons/floss for embellishing.  Here's a close-up:

Hip to be Square

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Helen has chosen our challenge and it is..."Hip to be Square"!  I've combined it with Catch the Bug's Humor Me Wednesday; humor holidays for this week are:

June 19th: Family Awareness Day and Father's Day
June 21st: Go Skateboarding Day, National Selfie Day, Tall Girl Appreciation Day, and World Music Day
June 22nd: Stupid Guy Thing Day
June 23rd: Let It Go Day
June 24th: International Fairy Day or Fairie Day and Take Your Dog to Work Day

I went with "International Fairy Day", in a square format of course!  The image is colored with pencils and I've accented her wings with glitter.  I used my new Gina Marie dies and matted them with Spellbinders dies...it's nice to let the dies do all the work instead of painstakingly measuring and cutting!  I've embellished simply with a button.

Image: Bugaboo "Fairy Rose" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110 CS, PTI Stamper's Select CS, SU! Summer Sun CS, Basic Grey Patterned Paper
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", Button (stash)/DMC Floss
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Gina Marie Dies, Spellbinders Dies, Foam Tape

Please check out the rest of the Ruby's Rainbow DT's creations here, along with the challenge details.

Sending sandy hugs & salty kisses.

Good morning!  The start of the new week brings a new sketch from From the Heart Stamps; along with the sketch there is a twist..."Gratitude Card".  Here's the sketch:

Yep, I bet you are thinking that I didn't follow the sketch...or the twist....  I tried to follow the sketch; I had banners cut of all shapes, colors, and sizes but I just couldn't get the 3 vertical elements to look good.  I ended up rotating my card base and changing the layout.  Do you notice the graph paper background on the sketch?  I even used graph paper!  I loved the way it pulled in the blue from the color challenge I was incorporating.  (Before I decided to rotate the card base, the background lined up perfectly with the graph paper used on the image panel.  Even though my OCD kicked into overdrive when I changed it, I just went with it anyway...yes, it was tough!  LOL)  I've embellished simply with some blue crystals.  Here's the full card:
