Catch the Bug's 10th Annual Birthday Bash

Welcome to Day 1 of our week-long Down on the Farm Birthday Bash! Farm life is great, I grew up on one! We raised cattle, hogs, and sheep; there were also horses, cats, and dogs. My playhouse was an old chicken coop and my younger siblings were on their pony at the age of 2. It was a peaceful, wholesome life. I digress...back to the challenge! For today we would like you to create a farm themed project.

I love Jodie's selection of chicks in the store and had a blast coloring this one up! I used pencils and added a bit of glitter to the balloons and to her "eyeshadow". After all, a chick has got to be fancy! Right? Here's a close-up:

New Release Tuesday...Monster Style

Good morning...welcome back to Day 4 of the Monster Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug! Today is New Release Day, plus we have a BINGO card for you to play! Here it is:

I went top left to bottom right: Die Cut (heart), Player's Choice (clean and simple), and Stripes (pink and blue monster). This was really a fun image to color! I used my Prisma pencils and coordinated it with one of my all time favorite patterned papers from Doodlebug (I am getting down to scraps!). I kept the layout super simple and added my signature heart die cut. This one will fit in an envelope and only require 1 stamp...woot woot!

To celebrate 9 years, we are having a Monster Bash, so stay tuned for some fun challenges and great inspiration! We are kicking off the week with a Monster Party...that's right, we want to see monsters on your project!

Here is what I have created for you:

I've used Make it Snappy Monsterific and pulled out some festive paper from my stash. The image is colored with pencils to coordinate with the papers and I've used an older sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. Once again, I realized I haven't used any embellishments...hmmm, interesting! I love embellishments, but sometimes I think you don't need them. What do you think?

Ink: Printer
Paper: Neenah CS, PTI CS, SU CS, Echo Park Patterned Paper
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Lil' Inker Designs Dies (circle, heart), Foam Tape

Bugaboo Birthday Bash: Color Challenge + Sprinkles

Good morning! It's Day 7 of Bugaboo's Birthday Bash. Not only is it Freebie Friday, we have a Color Challenge for you, plus we would like to see Sprinkles! (Because who doesn't like sprinkles?) Here is the color palette:

I have to say that I love the color palette, but I thought it would be fun to go with an all white card and incorporate the colors into the image only. The adorable chick is colored with pencils and I've added a generous "sprinkling" of glitter to her eyelids, feathers, and balloon. For a bit of texture I've used textured vellum for layering, along with grosgrain ribbon.

Here's a close-up:
