TMS#87
Good Tuesday morning! It's time for another fun challenge from Melissa at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. Our sponsor this week is Doodle Pantry; I just love this adorable bird image! Cute, cute, cute! I have to say this sketch had me stumped! I ended up changing the shapes of the panels to fit my image and also cropped the image. I used some fun DP I found when we took a day trip over spring break; the backside is used to paper piece the bird. I really had my doubts, about my choice to paper piece, when I starting trimming.... Those feathers are tiny! My daughter told me the bird looked weird with the "spots" all over, but I think he is too cute...and original! Image/Sentiment: Doodle Pantry Digital Image Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Lemon Tart and True Black, 7 Gypsies DP, The Paper Studio Vellum Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Jet" and "Rose" Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, MFT Die-namice Rolled Flower Die, The Cat's Pajama's Cut-Up Die (leaf), PTI Felt (yellow), MFT Felt (green) I can't wait to see the fun cards the rest of the girls have come up with! You can check them out here...and maybe play along too! Thanks for stopping by; have a great day! Angela

C.C. Designs Birgitta
Hello there! I have a fun spring card to share that works for 3 challenges:
1. Monthly image challenge on SCS
2. Jen del Muro's March SFYTT
3. The Corrosive Challenge Blog challenge (3 DP's, 2 ribbons, 1 image)
It's not often that I'm able to combine challenges, so I was pretty excited!
This month our image came from Imke and she included the cute, little sun charm. I decided to make Birgitta's sunflower pink...just for fun! The image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter. I added some felt grass and finished it off with a bit of ribbon, cord, and the charm.
Image: C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Birgitta
Paper: PTI Dark Chocolate, Pebbles DP
Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, SU! Silver Cord, Doodlebug Glitter, Sun Charm
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, MFT Die-namics Grass Die, EK Success 3D Dots
I can't wait to see what image we will be working with next month!
That's all for today; thanks for stopping by!

TMS#86: K.I.D.S.
Good morning! We have another fun challenge from Melissa at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. This week our challenge is K.I.D.S. which means "Keep It Delightfully Simple"! Sounds like a fun twist, doesn't it? I thought about what my kids would like and went with a Changito image. I kept the card to one layer and just added some glitter for embellishment. One never knows if they will keep the card, or just go for the gift card inside! Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I tell you, for such a simple card, I had a heck of a time getting this done.... I had planned to show 2 cards: a girl version and a boy version. I colored the original 2 cards only to find there were black smudges on the front. I have no idea where they came from! I checked my hands, the table, etc. I had the next set completed only to find that the girl version had black smudges! Good grief! By this time, I wasn't up for making another, so I just included a small picture of it. Now what do I do with 3 smudgey cards? It's not like I can take the image panel off, because it is 1 layer.... I guess they will go in the paper scrap box....

Paper: PTI Stamper's Select

I hope you will check out the rest of the DT's creations and then come up with a kid friendly card so you can play along too!
Thanks for stopping by!

Red Hat Society 50th Birthday
Hello and "Happy Friday"! How about a silly card to get the weekend off on a good note? One of my bosses at work asked me to make a birthday card for her sister-in-law...she requested the "Red Hat" theme. I couldn't really find any red/purple DP, so I decided to go with CS ran through the Cuttlebug...I thought the paisley was perfect! I am hoping I don't offend her with the slightly risque image. I'm thinking she will get a kick out of it...stubbly legs and all! LOL
The image is by Bugaboo Stamps, but I purchased the clear set from Totally Stampalicious. It has a few cute sayings to go with it. I struggled with how to make this a birthday card (without a birthday sentiment), but finally decided to put the "50" on the front...I think that makes it birthday worthy. I die cut some numbers, stamped the sentiment on vellum, die cut it, and used bling to hide the glue. It seemed to work out well. Stella is colored with pencils and the bow on her hat and her jewelry are accented with glitter. I added some bling to pull it all together.

SC324: Life is a Journey, Not a Destination
Good morning and "Happy St. Patrick's Day"! My card today has just a bit of green, so all is well! Yesterday my daughter was talking about wearing green so she wouldn't get pinched.... Next thing I know, she shows me her lovely green manicure! Only it wasn't nail polish, but green Silly Putty...oh my!
On to the crafty stuff.... Yesterday I made time to play the SCS sketch challenge. It was a fairly easy sketch which showed a flower embellishment. At first all I could think of to use was a flower, but then I thought of the MFT kite die. As I was getting that out, I noticed the cloud die and went from there. The DP used for the kite is by Cosmo Cricket and was sent to me in a birthday package from my friend Patti; thank you Patti, Cosmo Cricket paper rocks! The sentiment is from PTI. For being such a simple card, it took me awhile to put it all together. I did have fun moving the elements around before I glued them down. I do like how this card turned out, so maybe I am coming out of my funk! Yay!
Sentiment: PTI "Year of Flowers: Gladiolus"
Ink: SU! Real Red
Embellies: PTI Felt and Baker's Twine
Extras: MFT Kite and Cloud Dies, EK Success 3D Dots
That's all I have for today; thanks for stopping by!

Good Tuesday morning! We have another fun sketch from Melissa at the
Tuesday Morning Sketches blog, so let's get to it!
As I was looking for DP to use with the sketch, I couldn't really find any that was "just right", so I opted to go with plain cardstock. I have always liked the combo of pink/orange, so I decided to run with that.... Although the ribbons weren't hard to do, they took a lot of time...and glue dots! As I was finishing the card, I realized that I could have woven cardstock instead...I may have to try that.... The chick is colored with pencils and accented with a bit of glitter. I added some alphabet beads to finish it off. I may have to save this card for my daughter; she would get a kick out of "Superchick"!
Image: Stampendous Calendar Chick
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Pretty in Pink
Embellies: SU! Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon (narrow), PTI Orange Zest Grosgrain Ribbon (wide), Doodlebug Glitter, Alphabet Beads
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, DMC Floss
This week is a judged challenge, so I would love to see you play along. Check out the sketch and creations from the Design Team at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. Who knows, play along you might just win a fun prize?!
Thanks for stopping by; have a great day!

"Heartfelt Thanks"
Good morning! Today I have a card that I CASE'd from a PaperCrafts Card Creations magazine. I loved how bright and cheery it was, and just knew I wanted to make some for my stash. The colors...the fun buttons...it just made me happy!
The card was pretty simple to make; it probably took the longest to select the buttons and to "thread" the holes. It's so fun to search my button stash; I thought the avocado one with 6 holes was pretty unique!
Image: PTI "All About You Additions"
Sentiment: PTI "Everyday Classics"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Old Olive
Embellies: PTI Ripe Avocado Ribbon, PTI Buttons
Extras: Prismacolor Pencil/Goo Gone, DMC Floss, "Corner Chomper", Glue Dots
It's time to get moving here; the kids are part of the church service this morning and then we are going out for birthday brunch.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

CAS Get Well Soon
Good morning! I have another version of the CAS card I recently posted. I made a couple of variations; mainly leaving a bit more space at the top for the sentiment. I think I am finally happy with how it turned out! I think the bright and cheery colors would make most anyone feel better!
The DP is from American Crafts and it came with the scalloped edge; at first I was going to trim it off, but then decided to just roll with it. The crystals are Swarovski "Tanzanite" and they are a really beautiful shade of lavender; they are not true to color in the photo though. The sentiment is SU!
Sentiment: SU! Sincere Salutations
Ink: SU! Night of Navy
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, American Crafts DP
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Tanzanite", The Ribbon Boutique Ribbon
Tips and Tricks:
The ribbon for this card came from a roll that had plastic wrapped around it; although the color is beautiful, the actual ribbon isn't very nice. It's very lightweight and the edges really ravel, making it a bit hard to work with. The sale purchase price was $1 for 15 yards, so it didn't break the bank. In the future though, I think I will stick to more familiar brands or ribbon that I can buy by the yard, so I can feel the quality and texture first.
Thanks for stopping by; I hope your day is super!

Hello and happy Tuesday! Tuesdays are fun because we have another fun challenge from Melissa at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog! Our sponsor this week is Digi's By Phooka and our challenge is to create a gatefold card. I don't think I have ever made one, so it was fun to try. With the help of my Scor-Pal, it was very easy....
I included 3 photos today. The top photo is the card all "wrapped up", the middle shows the gatefold, and the bottom shows the "pocket" I put inside to hold a gift card or some cash. I think it's fun that you get to "unwrap" the card, by untying the bow, to get to the gift inside.
I printed the digi on some DP, cut it out, colored her cheeks and then added glitter to the purse to accent it. The DP is pretty busy, so I just used a single flower diecut for embellishing; I added a punched circle and some glitter to the flower as well. (The flower die was a gift from my friend Larissa; there were 3 different sizes, I used the small and medium on this card. Thank you, my friend!) I love the cute face on the purse...check out the eyelashes!
Image/Senitiment: Digi's By Phooka
Ink: SU! Black Marker
Paper: SU! Purely Pomegranate, PTI True Black, Rob And Bob Studio DP
Embellies: Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Crayola Colored Pencil, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, Scor-Pal, Joy Crafts Flower Dies, EK Success Circle Punches
I hope you will hop on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to see what Melissa and the crew have come up with...I can't wait to do so myself!
Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS "Best Wishes"
Hello! I tried to get myself out of my stamping funk and it took me 4 tries to get this card finished! LOL
#1 Stamped sentiment crooked.... How did that happen? I had "test stamped" on a piece of scrap paper to make sure my clear stamp was on the block straight.
#2 Crooked again...but only a tiny bit. This one will pass; I don't think a non-stamper would notice. Now I'm not sure if I like the choice of ink...gray. Also, I think I am going to go with another sentiment.
#3 Ooops! I stamped part of the sentiment on the striped strip.... Good grief! What is my problem?
#4 Stamped the sentiment first; thought this would be a good plan since I keep "wasting" good DP. Woo hoo...I got it straight! Now I am back to wondering if I should have stamped it in gray?
Did I mention I have been in a stamping funk? LOL
Sentiment: SU! Sincere Salutations
Ink: SU! Soft Sky
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, My Mind's Eye DP
Embellies: My Mind's Eye Bling
I am thinking that I can make some kind of flower to cover my stamping faux pas. I would like to salvage the cards I messed up...maybe another day....
I am really wondering if any of you other card makers have this problem? I am really hoping I am not alone. Please leave a comment and tell me about your biggest stamping mishap! It will make my day to know I am not alone....
Thanks for stopping by today!

Good morning! It's Tuesday, so that means Melissa has another fun sketch for us...check it out here at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.
I decided to go with my buddy Changito; I just love this image of him with a clover. He's colored with pencils and the clover has a bit of glitter on it, so it has a very nice but subtle sparkle. I used PTI ric rac dies for the black trim, and added a trio of Bella Dots for embellishing. For some reason, the green center panel doesn't appear to be the same shade of green as the DP, but I have the card sitting here and the match is perfect. Does anybody know how/why the different papers would photograph differently? I have noticed this before on occasion....

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Garden Green
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and True Black, SU! Garden Green, Reminisce DP
Embellies: Bella Dots, Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter

I hope you will head on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to check out the rest of the DT's creations, and then play along. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with! I also want to welcome Linda Bowman as our March Guest Designer.
Thanks for stopping by; have a great day!
