Tiddly Inks Challenge #6: Bring on the Bling!

My friend Larissa, who is a Tiddly Inker, told me I would love this challenge.... She's right! This one is right up my alley!
The digi image I used is called "Angel Q" and I colored her with Prismas. For bling I added some glitter to the image and some Swarovski flatback crystals to the corners. I tried to capture the glittery goodness with the photo. I also added some felt clouds cut from the new MFT Die-namics die.
Image: Tiddly Inks Digi Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Bermuda Bay, SU! "Welcome to the Neighborhood" DSP
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Polar Bear", Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Emerald", White Felt
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, MFT Die-namics Cloud Die, EK Success 3D Dots
I believe there is still a bit of time to play along with this challenge...check it out at Tiddly Inks Challenge blog. Random generator picked my number again last week, so I have $10 to spend on digis! Woot woot! There are usually new stamps added every week, and there are some cute digi papers as well.
I hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day. We plan to have a picnic; I'm serving homemade chicken salad on croissants along with some other goodies.... Mmmm, I can't wait!
Thanks for the visit!

Embrace Life

Hello and happy Friday! I am enjoying a Friday off; it's been quite awhile since I've had one. The weather is beautiful; sunny and warm, but not too warm...it's perfect!

I was cleaning my craft table this morning; I tell you, it really needed it! You know it's time when you don't have empty space on the table to craft! I am still not sure how I manage to make such a mess.... As I was putting some DP away I had an idea; I combined this pretty paper with SCS sketch challenge 281. It was super quick and easy!

Sentiment: SU! Embrace Life
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Blush Blossom, and True Black, DP ?
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals
Extras: Cuttlebug/Embossing Folder, SU! Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, EK Success 3D Dots

Alright, I better get back to work. I have a bit of cleaning to finish before I pick up DS from school. DD rode her bike. I am hoping to squeeze in a bit more crafty time too!

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy your day!

It's Tuesday Morning Sketch Time

Good morning! Today I have another sketch from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches Our sponsor thes week is Meljen's Designs Digital Stamp Shop Check them out, they have some cute digi stamps!

I colored my sleepy bear with pencils and added some glitter to the ball on his hat. I also used a Gelly Roll pen to add some sparkle to the swirls. The DP is from my Nana's Nursery paper pack from Die Cuts With a View. It's really pretty, but it was a cloudy day and I wasn't able to capture the sparkle in the photo.

CAS68: Hot

Hello! It is very hot here today so the CAS challenge at SCS was perfect; the theme was summer. Right away I thought of this Penny Black stamp; she is one of my "go to" stamps for summer. I think she is just too cute and a hot tamale to boot!

I colored the pig with inkpads and her accessories with Prismas. She's cut out/mounted with nesties and I added a little fudgesicle button just for fun!

Image: Penny Black
Sentiment: The Cat's Pajamas
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Burnt Umber, SU! Blush Blossom and Regal Rose
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Spring Rain, and Dark Chocolate, The Paper Studio DP
Embellie: Jesse James Button

The Corrosive Challenge: Clean and Simple

Good morning! Our challenge this week at The Corrosive Challenge Blog was to make a CAS card. I received this cool Changito pirate set recently from a good SCS friend (thanks, I LOVE it!) and knew it would be perfect!
I randomly stamped some of the smaller images, with Versamark, to make a background. Changito is colored with Crayolas then I used a little stipple tool, with Soft Suede ink, to add some texture. The image and sentiment are cut out with nesties and the sentiment is popped up. I don't make many cards for boys, so this is perfect to have in my stash.
Images/Sentiment: Stampendous "Changito Pirates" Clear Stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, SU! Soft Suede
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Pure Poppy, SU! Soft Suede
Extras: Crayola Colored Pencils, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Stipple Tool, EK Success 3D Dots
I hope you will stop by The Corrosive Challenge Blog to check out the DT's goodies; you will find links in my sidebar to their individual blogs as well. I hope you will get a chance to play along!

Oops!

Hello! I just finished my Tiddly Inks challenge card; the challenge was to make a card using no DP. I used the SCS sketch #281
This little gal is so cute; I just love her ice cream cone barrette! It is such a bummer that she lost her scoops of Rockey Road and Chippermint; at least she has her Cherry Nut! She is colored with Prismas. For a bit of texture, I used the Cuttlebug numbers folder; I thought it tied in well with the sentiment. I used a black gel pen on her eyes and added accents with a white gel pen as well.
Image: Tiddly Inks Digi Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Lemon Tart and Dark Chocolate
Extras:Prismas/Goo Gone, Cuttlebug/Embossing Folder, SU! Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches, Sakura Black Gel Pen, Signa White Gel Pen, EKSuccess 3D-Dots
I had a hard time getting a picture today. It was so breezy that my card wouldn't stand up. I really need to get one of those floral frog things to stand it in. Do any of you know where you can get them? Does you have any other method to keep your card standing up?
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday. It is cool, but currently sunny; so much better than the dreary weather I woke up to. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Graduation

Good Friday morning! It is wet and drizzly here today; I am really hoping it will clear up for the weekend as it is graduation. Our colors are gold and black; our mascot is a lion. Since I didn't have a lion (with cap and scroll) stamp, I decided to go with this cute little Stampendous Calendar Chick.
The chick is colored with pencils, cut out with nesties and mounted on the new large scallop circle. The card is very simply embellished; I just paper pierced a line, used my Scor-Pal to add a couple of lines, and finished it off with some brads. (I actually use this technique a lot...it's fast and easy!)

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Pure Black, SU! Summer Sun
Embellie: Spare Parts Brads

With Hugs

Hello! I had the chance to play the SCS sketch challenge today...I do love a sketch challenge! At first I thought I might do something with a floral stamp, but as I was looking through my stuff I kept coming back to Changito. The little fella just makes me happy! Notice the glitter...that makes me happy too!
This was a pretty simple card. The image was colored with Crayolas and I used a Cuttlebug folder and some glitter for embellishment. I like how it turned out.
Image: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, SU! Pink Passion
Embellie: Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Crayolas, Cuttlebug/Embossing Folder, SU! Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches
I realized something today when making this card.... I do not use my handheld punches enough. I usually reach for my Nesties and I really like them, but it was really quick to grab these SU! punches and just punch! It was also easy to center the words. No tape needed like I use when trying to hold the Nestie in place.
Thanks for stopping by; enjoy your evening!

TMS#46: Favorite Color Combo Plus Glitter!

Good morning! It's time for another challenge from Melissa at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. This week your challenge is to make a card using your favorite color combo plus glitter. Our sponsor this week is Carolyn from Busy Beauties Boutique I chose the image"two scoops".
I have had this fun Doodlebug DP in my stash for awhile and was so glad to be able to use some since it went well with one of my favorite color combos of pink and chocolate. The ice cream cone is colored with Prismas before applying a bit of glitter. I did a bit of piercing and added some Bella Dots.

2 Challenges, 1 Card!

Hello! It's Sunday and that means I have another challenge for you from The Corrosive Challenge Blog...this week our challenge was to make an easel card. It was really a challenge for me since I had never made one before. I was able to find a tutorial on SCS and with the help of my Scor-Pal, it wasn't too hard. I also incorporated the Tiddly Inks Challenge #4, which was to use turquoise, orange, and yellow. (I was the lucky winner of challenge #3 as my number was randomly picked! Woot woot! I received a $10 voucher for the store!)
My image is a digi stamp from Tiddly Inks She's colored with Prismas and glittered up so she's good and sparkly! I used a Hero Arts sentiment for her sign.

Butterfly Card CASE

Yay, it's finally Friday! Do you ever feel like the weekend can't come fast enough? I'm so glad to know my alarm isn't going to ring at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning...I may sleep in until 6!
Today I have another card with a coordinating gift box for the young woman graduating from med. school. I thought the saying and the pretty butterflies were so appropriate for her. I saw the design for this card on my friend Rebecca's blog; it was so simple and beautiful that I had to CASE it!
The butterflies are punched with Martha Stewart punches and embellished with Swarovski flatback crystals. For the box I made a simple band decorated with a monogram and more butterflies. The band and the letter "K" are both embossed with a Cuttlebug folder to give them a bit of texture.
Sentiment: Penny Black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Hawaiian Shores, and Summer Sun, SU! Melon Mambo
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals
Extras: Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug/Embossing Folder, QuicKutz "Blossom" Alphabet Die, Spellbinders Nestabilities

Bella Graduation Card/Gift Box

Happy Wednesday! It is another cold, rainy day here in Iowa. I don't think I have ever had the furnace running in May before....
Today I have a non-traditional graduation card to show you. My former boss asked me to make a card for her daughter's graduation from medical school. I made 3 cards so she would have a choice. (DH just called to tell me to put my car in the garage becaue golf ball sized hail is coming our way. Ack!) Anyway, this is the first. I wanted to make something special for this young lady. She has done some remarkable things in her life; like traveling to third world countries to help those less fortunate. She has set high goals and wants to make a difference in the world.
I did just a bit of coloring, as I paper pieced Bella's outfit. I added a couple of black lines on her feet so I could "make" shoes. For embellishments, I made a tag, tied it and the "2010" charm together, and attached it under the knotted ribbon. I also made a simple box to present the card in. I used PTI Stamper's Select, so it's light but sturdy, and my Scor-Pal. I coordinated it with the DP and added her monogram. Inside, the bottom of the box is lined with white felt.
Image/Sentiment: Stamping Bella
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Melon Mambo, g.c.d studios DP
Embellies: Watch Us Pewter Charm, White Grosgrain Ribbon (my stash)
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Scor-Pal, Spellbinders Nestabilities, QuicKutz Blossom Alphabet, DMC White Floss, Foam Tape
Thanks for stopping by today!

It's Tuesday Morning Sketch Time!

Good Tuesday morning! It's time for another one of Melissa's sketches. Our sponsor this week is There She Goes; I don't have any of their stamps, but I checked out their site and they have cute stuff! I went with Stella instead....
Stella is colored with pencils, then cut and mounted with Spellbinders Nestabilities. I used the new large scallops for both the image and the sentiment. I added a bit of yellow glitter to her crown and wand, then dotted her eyes with a black gel pen. I thought the DP was kind of funky and went with Stella's quirky style. I finished off the card with some Kaisercraft self adhesive rhinestones. (I'm thinking of doing a comparison between the Swarovski flatback crystals and these.)
Image/Sentiment: Stamping Bella
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Gable Green and Melon Mambo, Adornit by Carolee's Creations DP

Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Sakura Black Gel Pen
I hope you will check out the DT's creations over on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. You can also check out the DT's individual blogs via the links in my sidebar. I'd love to see you play along this week!
Well, that's it for me today...I'm off to work! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

PTI Color Comparison

Hello! By request, I am back with some PTI color comparisons. You may recall that I mentioned the other day that I didn't feel some of my felt was a "perfect match" to my paper. I didn't do comparisons with Vintage Cream and True Black, as I thought there wasn't much to compare.
I do want to mention that I am not trying to criticize PTI, but just wanted to show an actual side by side comparison between the products in the different color lines. The photos are taken outside and have no retouching. Even though I don't think they are all a "perfect match", they will all get used; maybe just not all together.... I also want to mention PTI rocks! I am a fan of their products, and LOVE their cardstock!
The top photo features the Hawaiian Shores. The grosgrain ribbon is a good match to the paper, but the felt has much more of a blue tone. The buttons are a nice mix; included is a mix of both the tones.
The second photo features the Raspberry Fizz. I feel the ribbon is a "perfect match" to the paper and the buttons blend nicely as well. In my opinion, the color of the felt is not as rich.
The third photo features the Dark Chocolate. I use a lot of this color; I love it! I think the paper and the twill are indeed a perfect match. I had noted previously that the buttons had an orange cast to them, and I feel the felt does too. To me, it isn't as rich as the paper. It does blend nicely with the buttons though.
I hope these comparisons have been useful. I may do more in the future as more felt colors are released.
Thanks for stopping by!

The Corrosive Challenge

Hello! Our challenge this week is a sketch provided by Joan. It was a fun one; it gave me the opportunity to use some pretty springy DPs by Making Memories. Lily and her turtle friend are colored with Prismas; they look like they are taking a nice, leisurely stroll.... I used Nestabilities to cut the circle embellishments and carried out the circular theme by embellishing with some chocolate Bella Dots.

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate, Making Memories "Whimsey" DP

Tiddly Inks BUGGY Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the hop! Today is the first ever Tiddly Inks Blog Hop! We officially start at 6:00 a.m., but I am posting a bit early so I don't have to get up.... First off, I want to apologize for the bad photo, but that's what happens when you finish your card after midnight...note to self: start earlier next time! The colors are so much more vibrant and pretty in real life.... (9:01 a.m.---edited to post picture taken outside.)

The hop officially starts at the Tiddly Inks blog. If you are hopping along, you will have arrived here from Angelique's blog.

My card features the digi stamp "Cherry Bugg". Don't her cupcakes just look scrumptious? She is colored with Prismas and has glitter dotted on her cupcakes and covering her wings. The DP is by Doodlebug and it's actually from a line of Halloween paper; since it's a bit busy I kept it simple and just embellished with some black Bella Dots in the corners of the panels.

Image: Tiddly Inks Digi Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Green Galore, PTI True Black, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Polar Bear", Doodlebug Glitter (colored, on cupcakes), Bella Dots
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Sakura Black Glaze Pen, Foam Tape

Next stop on the hop is Lisa's blog. Be sure to leave a little love as you hop; one lucky commenter will be drawn from each of the participants' blogs to be entered in a drawing to win some fun prizes!

Thanks for stopping by today; enjoy your weekend!

Bellarific Friday: Flowers

Good Friday morning! Yay, I am so glad we are almost to the weekend! It has been a long week and today will be another long day; I look forward to tomorrow where I can just kick back and relax. I might even sleep in until 6!
Our challenge this week was "flowers". I love this image so it was my first choice to use. I had planned to only color the flower, but when my card was almost done DD let me know it didn't look good.... Sometimes I am not sure if it really doesn't look good, or if she is just being ornery with me.... She is 11 and I am finding at times she can be quite contrary, while other times she is just so sweet and loving. It is becoming hard to gauge her moods; I am thinking it is all a part of growing up.... This too will pass!
Well, since I decided I had better color my Bella I had some fun with her. I colored her pants to look like the new black/white tweed ones I have and I gave her lowlights in the front of her hair. I added some Doodlebug glitter to the flower and a large Bella Dot in the middle. The bottom right corner has 3 small Bella Dots.
I used Jen del Muro's "Sketch for You to Try" It was supposed to have an embellishment on the upper left side of the image panel, but I discovered that it would cover Bella's head which was probably not a good plan after I gave her the lowlights and all.... Regardless, I think it was really a fun sketch!
Image: Stamping Bella
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Hibiscus Burst and True Black, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: Bella Dots, Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Foam Tape
I hope you'll stop on over at Blogabella and take a look at the other entries for Bellarific Friday; I am always amazed at the beautiful cards.
Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a great Friday! Tomorrow is the Tiddly Inks blog hop so I will be back with another card....

Tiddly Inks Challenge #3: Fabric

Hello there! It is a cold, windy Wednesday...I hear it is supposed to be 34 degrees Friday night. Good grief!
I have a card that combines 2 challenges today; I love it when I can do that! I see some people are able to combine many more than that; I'll have to work on it.... I used the sketch over at SCS and went to work. I had great plans to use fabric in my i-top brad maker, but I found that the Heidi Grace fabric I bought to go with my Heidi Grace paper didn't match. The fabric was much more vibrant. Then I thought of my PTI felt, but discovered that the Hawaiian Shores felt didn't match the Hawaiian Shores paper.... What a bummer! Then I checked the Dark Chocolate felt/paper and found it was not a good match either! Double bummer! I guess today was not my day! LOL
I decided to go with SU! Cool Caribbean since it matched the DP and also goes great with the felt. When SU! was retiring that color I bought a bunch because it is one of my very favorites; I do tend to hoard it though. The image is a digi; I am really liking the ability to resize the digis to your project. I colored her with Prismas and added some glitter to her wings. I used SU! felt flowers combined with the PTI felt and repurposed a green felt heart for the leaves. I like how this card turned out; the colors make me happy! Plus, if I get to use glitter that makes me happy too; I don't even mind the mess!
Image: Tiddly Inks Digi Stamp
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Cool Caribbean, PTI Dark Chocolate, Heidi Grace DP
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Polar Bear", PTI Hawaiian Shores Felt, SU! Stitched Felt Sweet Pea Flowers
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, SU! Stamp-a-ma-jig, Foam Tape
Here's a link to the Tiddly Inks blog in case you would like to check out the challenge. The DT's cards are worth taking a look at too!
Just wanted to share a bit of happy news; DD tried out for flags with the marching band. She found out today she made it! Makes me remember H.S. (MANY years ago) when I was a flag and also played the bass drum in the marching band. Were any of you in the band? I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks for stopping by today; enjoy your evening!

It's Tuesday Morning Sketches Time!

Good morning! It's time for another sketch from Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches; this week our sponsor is Glitterbabe's Art Shop I used the "Draco Dragon" digi; I thought this image would be perfect for a children's birthday card.
I colored the image with Prismas/Goo Gone and applied glitter to the "pinkish" areas. Well, a strange thing happened.... The "pinkish" areas were colored with the same purple pencil that I colored the flower with, but when I applied the glue to apply the glitter the areas turned "pinkish"! Hmmmm, I don't recall that ever happening before.... I used the same glue pen as usual too; the EK Success Squeeze and Roll 2-Way Glue Pen. This is a great pen; the tip is like a ball point pen so it is very easy to control where the glue is applied. So I guess maybe this would best be used for a girl's birthday...not sure how a boy would like getting pink.... I added a Making Memories charm and some antiqued silver brads to further embellish the card.
Image: Glitterbabe's Art Shop Digi Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Wild Wasabi and Elegant Eggplant, My Mind's Eye DP
Embellies: Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", Making Memories Charm, Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape
I hope you will head over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and check out the DT's cards. You can also see their individual blogs with the links in my sidebar; check them out, you will find some great stuff! I would love to see YOU play along too!!!
Thanks for stopping by; happy stamping!

Tiddly Inks Challenge #2: Mother's Day

Hello! I see I am just scraping by here...entries for this challenge need to be uploaded in roughly 3 1/2 hours! Good grief; why am I always running so behind?!
The theme for the challenge was to make a Mother's Day card. I chose this cute image because I thought what Mom wouldn't like getting flowers? The image is colored with pencils and as usual I have applied a liberal dose of glitter to the wings. I applied a finer glitter to the centers of the flowers and to her little blue shoes. In real life this little gal really shimmers and sparkles!
I used a sketch I saw on Mercy's blog; I tell you she really makes adorable cards and uses the neatest sketches! You'll have to check them out....
Image: Tiddly Inks Digi Stamp
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Dark Chocolate, SU! Bashful Blue, The Paper Studio DP
Embellies: PTI Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Angel Dust", Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape
You can check out the other entries in for this challenge on the Tiddly Inks blog. I believe they will announce a new challenge tomorrow and there is even a blog hop coming up. I hope I have time to make something to participate....
Well that's all I have for today, but I will be back tomorrow with my Tuesday Morning Sketches card. It was a bit of a long day at work today; we had our first day training the staff for a major computer upgrade to be installed in June. It's always good to get that first day out of the way.... Now I can just relax tonight and watch Dancing With The Stars!
Thanks for stopping by; have a great evening!

The Corrosive Challenge: Birthday Card

Hello! Our challenge this week was to make a birthday card in honor of Janet's birthday. I used this week's sketch from SCS and an adorable Calendar Chick from Stampendous. Doesn't she just look like she's having a ball? I love that she's not shy about having her share of cake...that's my kind of girl!
The chick image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter. I used Martha Stewart's Crystal Fine Glitter on the bright pink icing; it has a very subtle shimmer and reminds me of granulated sugar. I used a bit of Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter on the party hat; it is super sparkley!
I just received my Spellbinders Big Scalloped Square dies in the mail, so I used them to cut the Melon Mambo layers. I like the looks of the larger scallops; what do you think?
Image: Stampendous Calendar Chick

I hope you'll have a chance to stop by The Corrosive Challenge Blog to check out the DT's creations and to wish Janet a "Happy Birthday"! Links are in my sidebar.

Happy Birthday Miss Boo!

Hello! Today I have a clean and simple (CAS) card to share. The CAS challenge this Monday on SCS was to make a birthday card and to use orange. It was in honor of Miss Boo, who hosts the CAS challenges every week.

I decided to play up the dots---hat, piercing, ribbon. This card was super easy to put together.... First I stamped and colored the image, cut it out with Nestabilites, layered it with a scalloped diecut, and added a bit of glitter to the dots. Next I pierced 2 lines, added the ribbon, and last adhered the image with foam tape. Easy as pie!

Image: Stampendous Calendar Chick
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Pumpkin Pie
Embellies: Doodlebug Glitter, American Crafts Ribbon
Extras: Crayolas, Tim Holtz Piercing Ruler, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape

I'm just wondering, what kind of card do you prefer? CAS, elaborate, or somewhere in between?

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a great day!

Angela
