Good Tuesday morning; it's time for another challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches This week we are challenged to use soft hues, ribbons, and flowers; I hope you will play along! Our sponsor this week is Doodle Palace and the image I used is called "Teddy with Flowers".
Teddy is colored with Crayolas/Goo Gone. DP is from Imaginisce and it is double-sided; the striped side has lovely glitter accents. I used some irridescent ribbon and glitter on the flowers to pull it all together. I was almost finished when I remembered these flower stick pins in my stash; I thought they were the perfect finishing touch. When I was done, I realized this would be a nice baby card.
Image: Digi from Doodle Palace
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Certainly Celery, Imaginisce DP
Embellies: Fancy Pants Designs Stick Pins, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in "Polar Bear", Ribbon (my stash)
Extras: Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Foam Tape
Tips and Tricks:
I find it a bit hard to get the diagonol panel "just right" and I have found that using copy paper is a good way to make a template so you can avoid wasting costly DP. I just position the copy paper where I would put it on the card, mark it, cut it, and then check the fit. If it looks good, I then lay that piece on top of my DP and cut it by hand. I keep used copy paper with my container of scraps to use for scrap paper.
I have a question that I hope one of you can answer.... Have you ever used the stick pins? If so, have you sent them through the mail? If so, how?
Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a great day! It looks like it could be another rainy one here....
