Good morning! It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Catch the Bug and I've made a card to send to my daughter at college...I have always called her "my little monkey"!

The image is colored with pencils and I've added glitter to the balloon. I went clean and simple with the layout using just a strip of patterned paper. Here's a close-up:

Oldie But Goodie

Good morning! It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Catch the Bug and I'm using Cat Rat Birthday.

I made this card for my daughter's boyfriend's birthday. His favorite color is green and I knew I wanted it to have an orange cat on it, so I went hunting through my images for the perfect one. (A little background on the "orange cat"....We have an orange cat named Wendel and Carter just loves him! When the kids come home from school for the weekend, playing with Wendel is at the top of the list. It's fun to see the softer side of a young man! I do realize this doesn't really look like a card for a young man, but Carter did understand the "Wendel" connection!) I've colored the image with pencils and restrained myself from glittering it up..lol! I used some birthday themed papers from a 6x6 pad and added a bit of ribbon for embellishing. Here's a close-up:

Catch the Bug ABC

Good morning! It's Anything But a Card Monday at Catch the Bug. I've decorated a sorbetto container and filled it with candy corn. (I went to buy a pint of Ben and Jerry's after work one night and walked out with 2 pints of Talenti...I recommend it! I need to go back for 2 more pints so I can make enough for all my daughter's roommates at school!)

The supplies:

Bobblehead Ghost (one of Jodie's new Halloween images!) is colored with pencils and accented with glitter and googlie eyes, then die cut and mounted with Spellbinders. I adhered a patterned paper band around the container and adhered the image panel over the top. Here's a close-up of the image:

Stella Says Sketch #515

Good morning! Stella has a new sketch for you to try...and it's a good one! I used one of Jodie's adorable new Halloween images for this card; I'll have to say she had me at "the tooth"! Oh my...such cuteness! Here's the sketch:

I've colored the image with pencils; while relaxing and listening to music, coloring is so therapeutic, I enjoyed the process of making this card...from start to finish. Halloween cards are my favorite to make...hands down! I pulled out some of my punches and dies for embellishing; the clouds are cut from felt and the bats are punched from glitter CS. No sentiment like the sketch, but I've added a CS strip to "ground" the card. I love how this one turned out...may have to send it to my daughter at college! Here's a close-up:

Catch the Bug July Color Challenge

Good morning! We have a Color Challenge for you this Saturday at Catch the Bug...it's bright and summery...love it! Here it is:

Instead of going with patterned paper, I decided to go all white to keep the focus on the image and the colors. I like how it turned out! I've used pencils to color the chick and liberally accented her with glitter. I've matted her with die cuts; the "pinked" edge die cut is textured vellum, like the band. I think the white on white is elegant and a fun change of pace. Card sketch is from Paper Play Sketches. Here's a close-up:

Bugaboo Christmas in July: Photo Inspiration & Make It Funny!!

Good morning! Welcome to Day 3 of Bugaboo's Christmas in July; today we have an inspiration photo for you plus we'd like you to make it funny! Here's your inspiration:

I was inspired by Rudolph and the colors. I love this image of Rudolph and found the perfect patterned paper in my stash! I've colored him with pencils and added some Glossy Accents to his nose. I used a simple layout, added a sentiment, and some mini brads for embellishing. Here's a close-up:

Bugaboo Christmas in July: Wrap It Up With a Twist

Good morning! Welcome to Day 3 of Bugaboo's Christmas in July; today we are challenging you to create something you'd use to wrap up a gift!  But wait...there is a twist! Please use non-traditional colors! Sounds fun, right?!

I went through my paper stash to find something non-traditional for inspiration. I thought the turquoise and lavender was so pretty and perfect for this challenge! I colored the elf with pencils, to coordinate, and used non-traditional colors for the ornaments too. I've added a band to the gift box, then mounted the image on a sparkly die cut, accented it with a touch of glitter, and adhered it to the box with foam tape. Here's a close-up of the image:

Bugaboo Christmas in July: Make it Sparkle and Shine

Good morning! Welcome to Day 1 of Bugaboo's Christmas in July; we have planned a week of great challenges for you so get ready for some creative fun! The Catch the Bug blog will be featuring the Design Team's creations daily to inspire you...we do hope you will play along! To kick off the week we want to see "Sparkle and Shine"...because, who doesn't like sparkle and shine?!

I have colored up Christmas Troll...I love her! I remember playing with Trolls that were given to me by an older cousin; I also used to make them clothes. When I saw her cuteness, I knew I had to color her up! I've used pencils and accented the image with glitter...3 kinds to be exact! I've also added some Glossy Accents to her earrings for a bit of shine and dimension. The candy patterned paper is also embellished with glitter, but my camera isn't picking that up. Stella Says Sketch

Good morning! It's Stella Says Sketch Sunday at Catch the Bug and I have a card to share using the July sketch. It's a great sketch and you have all month to play along so I hope you'll give it a try!

I went with one of my favorite "Margaret" images...I just love how she oozes sass! And her style too.... I've colored her with pencils; how do you like her yellow polka dotted swim skirt? She's ready for the beach with zinc oxide on her nose and sunscreen in her bag! Patterned papers are from Echo Park and the stitched die cuts are from Lil' Inker Designs.

***Funny story about the die cuts.... The first floor of my house is being remodeled, so that means every room except the kitchen (already done) and bathroom are basically not livable. My studio on the second floor is being used for storage right now and I couldn't find my sun die amongst the mess! I do have a sun punch, but I wanted the "stitched" look and was accepting no substitutes! I frantically searched here and there...multiple times...and finally found a baggie of extra die cuts. Score! There was a sun inside, not the size I wanted though, so I layered it on a circle...not exactly the look I was going for, but it was a "make it work" moment!

Good morning; today is "Anything But a Card" at Catch the Bug! Since graduation is upon us, I went with a Hershey Nugget tin. Not only does the graduate get a sweet treat, you can tuck a little cash inside too!

The image (retired) is colored with pencils, accented with glitter, and mounted on a die cut.  The candy is wrapped in CS and I've added a CS band with ribbon for embellishing.

Good morning...it's New Release day at Bugaboo! Really hoping those April showers will bring May flowers, or in our case May snow! Ugh!

I've colored the image with pencils and paired it with some bright and cheery Doodlebug papers. The paper was too pretty to cover up so I added a piece of vellum for one of the layers on the sketch...I really like that trick...it adds a bit of interest too. Good morning! I have a card to share using the adorable "Little Nurse Kathy"...I just love this image! She's colored with pencils and I've added a sentiment especially for my friend who is leaving the unit to take a new job. She has one of the biggest hearts ever, so this sentiment was perfect! She will be missed!
