Flower Bird

Good morning!  We have a fun, new color challenge for you at Catch the Bug, check out the pretty palette:

I went with one of Jodie's new June Images, Flower Bird...isn't she adorable?  She's colored with pencils and her eyes are enhanced with a black gel pen.  The patterned paper didn't photograph true to color...the flowers coordinate with the bow on her hat and the background is actually navy.  I rounded the edges for a bit of interest and added some ribbon for embellishing.

Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Pink Pirouette, American Crafts Patterned Paper

Thank you!

Good morning...happy Wednesday...we are halfway to the weekend!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight, Debbie has chosen our challenge and it is "Stamping...Rubber or Digital".  Sounds like fun!

I went with a digital image from From the Heart Stamps...yes, a Birdbrain!  Love them!  I added a sentiment and printed the image twice so I could pop up the flower in her hand; the image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I've done a bit of distressing and simply added ribbon for embellishing.  This will be a good one for my stash...you never know when you will need a "thank you"....

Flower Pot Chick

Good morning!  It's time for a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches...it's a fun one!  Here it is:

I kept it simple by not matting my patterned paper.  Whenever I try this, I feel like the card is unfinished...it's hard to step out of the comfort zone.  It's good to switch things up though!  I used one of the Stampendous Calendar Chick images and it's colored with pencils.  I embellished with mesh (love how you can see the patterned paper through it!) and pearls.

Image: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream and Harvest Gold, Echo Park Patterned Paper
Embellies: Spare Parts Pearls
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Cream Mesh (Paper Mart)

Balloon Ants

Good morning!  It's time for a new sketch from the ladies at Tuesday Morning Sketches...our sponsor this week is Doodle Pantry!  Here is our sketch:

I used a fun pre-colored digi called Balloon Ants.  I love the variety of colors and the matching dotted papers, it makes cardmaking fast and easy!  I've done a bit of distressing to the patterned paper and image panel, then added brads and a snippet of ribbon for embellishing.  I also dotted the eyes with a black gel pen for definition.

Cherry Bird

Good morning!  It's time for our "Anything Goes" challenge at Catch the Bug!

I came across this fun cherry paper the other day and immediately thought of Jodie's new image...Cherry Bird!  Isn't she a hoot?  I've colored her with pencils, added a touch of glitter to her glasses and the flowers, and a gem to the butterfly.  I've used a simple layout and added brads and twill for embellishing.

I Give You My Heart

Good morning!  Tuesday means a new challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches and we have a wonderful sponsor this week...Bugaboo!  Here's the sketch:

Some of you may notice that I just used this image, but I like him so much that I decided to use him again (it was also perfect considering the heart in the sketch!).  He is colored with pencils and I've added glitter to his heart.  I printed the heart from the set on CS and cut it out...I love how the one he's holding is the perfect match.  I've added mesh, ribbon, buttons, and bling for embellishing.  I'm thinking I might save this one for my son to give his sweetie....

Birthday Cupcakes

Good morning!  Monday means "Anything But a Card" at Catch the Bug....  Is it just me, or is this a really hard challenge for you too?

It took awhile, but once I had a plan I got busy!  I've used one of Jodi's adorable new images...Mouse Candle...it's perfect to embellish a box of birthday treats.  The image is colored with pencils and layered with die cuts; I've added brads for embellishing and a "band" to wrap around the box.  Tip: if you score the CS it will fold neatly around the box.

Image: Bugaboo "Mouse-Candle" Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Scor-Pal

Here is a larger peek....

Inside the box is Cappuccino Chip and Cherry Almond...both very delish!
